You are goinf down Will, admit it to yourself and then you can prepare for next season's trip to Scunthorpe.

Nah, Forest might scoot up a few places and then back down a few but will win enough games at the CG to finish about where they are now. I’ll accept that if the club continues to back the manager and allow him a good run at the task.

Huddlestone and Ledley held their positions well and did an unobtrusively decent job. Hudd's job is also to drop back between the central defenders when we are playing it from the back. He almost never gives the ball away which is an underrated quality. Some fans near me weren't happy about the slowness in getting the ball forward but this was clearly a predetermined plan to avoid the risk of giving away possession in the midfield areas where Forest might have been able to capitalise. I think as a pair they function pretty well.

Doing the job they do Huddleston and Ledley will always be underappreciated. It happened when Lansbury was doing the job for us.

Some fans who have challenges themselves, are always looking for someone to criticise whether they deserve it or not

I'm not saying he was overtly bad, just that he wasn't as good as the others in their respective roles... he's never going to do well against the terrier-type players who move quickly and, whilst his reading of the game gives him some advantage in that regard, he was bailed out by deciisive defending by Curtis more than once.

You were probably too busy clapping to take any serious note of what was happening on the pitch, as is your way.

Clapping, waving flags, cheering, advising the referee, yes. Johnny was over my side second half so I also took the opportunity to tell him how well he was doing and to keep it up if at all possible. He appeared to take this to heart. None of this impaired the function of my visual apparatus though, you will be astonished to read.

I thought some of his passing was abysmal. Nearly landing us in trouble a couple of times and losing possession many times.

We should have attacked Forest more, their defence was the worst we have played this season. Very poor indeed. Any time we attached with any intent we created a chance.

I thought the ref was favourable to the visitors; a few non-fouls were blown up for early on but he faded into obscurity as the match wore on which was to his credit, once he saw through the Forest diving and injury-feigning and whatnot.

El Greenio, the best out and out right winger we've had in the last decade.

On the subject of Forest is it about players or systems of play?

If you overload a part of the pitch say the attacking third, chances are with professional players you'll see them have more of the ball in these positions.

This doesn't make you a good team if you over expose yourself in the middle and defensive third. If MW chose to play more defensively it would come at the expense of your attacking play, you wouldn' be able to overload the final third as much.

Maybe some defenders that can defend on the counter might help, maybe better finishing but chucking lots of people in forward positions doesn't make you a deserving team until you can consistently outscore the opposition or balance out the weaknesses in the first and second third.

It's maybe that MW thinks you have more chance being gung-ho than trying to be balanced. Although at Rangers n Brentford he did the same. Is he an ideologue that can be found out like Pearson or can he change his approach a bit? If he does get found out and loses his job what then for Forest?

GR in contrast seems a bit more pragmatic and has tried to balance the thirds, yesterday I think we won because of this balance. It still needs a lot of work to be competitive, but I'm not sure Forest overloading players in attacking positions at the expense of defensive ones constitutes deserving something from a game.

Better than Bend It Davies ?

What about those times Theo moved out right, a thing of beauty.

When Theo was allowed to lead the line we averaged well in excess of 3 points per game.

Unfortunately we never saw the Sammon-Robinson combination in action. That would have troubled any defence, our own included.
