Rate Barkley, class player

Opinion changed, don’t rate him now
dont know about trying to thread a needle through the defence, what we are missing is Walker and Rose pace on the flanks, defenders hate pace, Davies is steady but no pace hopefully Aurier will play on tuesday, Poch keeps playing Son but thats not too successful either, I suppose he may have to go with Vertonghen even though he has no pace either

Yes, all day long, no question.
Lots of games, lots of options needed. We have doubts over Dembele's long-term fitness, and Lamela has had a year out.
Barkley would be:
A. Competition for a central midfield spot in a pair with Dier/Wanyama.
B. An extra option for playing in that diamond as the Sissoko/Winks or Eriksen alongside a DM.
C. Competition for a place in the 2 of the 3421.
D. Competitiom for a spot in the 3 of the 4231.
A versatile, malleable young English player, with his best years still to come. Absolute no-brainer for me

Spot on
Would prefer Lamela before Barkley in an attacking midfield role.
I think more importantly is that Spurs get another striker in. I really do not see Llorente being any better than Janssen. Certainly not good enough for Poch to rest Kane and give him a full game in the Prem. I know Llorente is not being given a lot of minutes, but I already get vibes that Poch does not really think he is good enough. Wouldn`t be surprised to see Spurs go for Benteke in the January window.
I think a lot of things contributed to another flat display at Wemberlee.
Full backs/wing backs is key. Trippier cannot beat a man and was well marked preventing him fro getting decent crosses in. We need to work that side better to work space for Trippier to cross. This season he hasnt put enough balls in the box IMO. hes also guilty of the sideways/backwards overplaying.
Vertonghen at LB/LWB does help either. and to be honest, Davies isnt a great attacking option when the opposition are parking the bus.
The total lack of anyone to go past a man in that team was the issue for me...Lamela, Rose, Aurier, Dembele all offer that but were all missing. Alli just aint firing and well marked in games making him less effective. Son also not hit the heights of last season yet.
Would anyone be surprised if we did nothing in January? We can talk about players we should bring in but we've been here so many times before with this club and been left disappointed.
I'd hope we do something as we could do with more pace and creativity. If things are going swimmingly by then Levy may be reluctant to put his hand in his wallet after the spending in the summer.

The only way Trippier beats his man, which you see time and time again live, is off the ball if the man isn't paying attention. Requires a high difficulty ball to get to him. Aurier picking up form is essentially, thank god Davies has stepped up to such a high level.
Barkley? No thanks.
We knew he was injured so all this conjecture about how he could have helped us on the basis he wasn’t injured and joined us only serves to highlight the ridiculous decision to not go after anyone else. We can’t turn back time and win points back that have been lost months earlier, should have had other targets to chase like most normal football clubs would do.
spurs dont do wembley
absolutely fine away from home
Barkley will definitely join Tottenham, if Everton are struggling at the bottom of the table still come then I can’t see them selling him
