A convincing win would have been no surprise anyway. As said Henderson has played in many a massive win. Look at his performance at Arsenal. Was that direct?

Google confirmation bias.

Your logic is ludicrous.

Alls you've done is looked up a big result with Henderson in the team and suggested that renders my view that he's more of a hindrance invalid.

I've already stated that we've had big wins with him in the side (i'm sure you probably read it).

I'll repeat myself, Jordan Henderson is overly cautious with the ball and far too often opts to pass square or backwards instead of advancing the play.

Google ignorance

May I ask what you expect a deep midfielder charged with breaking up attacks and spreading play to do? Surging dribbles and shots from the halfway line?

It seems to me that you don't really understand football and the different roles within a system.

Yes like against Arsenal. Or against Hoffenheim. Or agains Spurs. In fact there are loads.

I'll hazard a guess you cannot find a single other game where we scored more than 3 goals with Milner playing cm for us. Not one.

How many games has he played cm? Henderson plays there full time so throwing up games like Arsenal and Hoffenheim is useless because if you play more than player b in position x then you’re likely to have more examples of big wins.

As for what I expect from a deep midfielder - to me that’s protecting the back 4, something I think Jordan is very poor at, winning back posession and distribution to those in advanced positions on the pitch.

Nobody said anything about surging dribbles.

I’d also argue that Henderson isn’t necessarily a deep midfielder. He’s simply a central midfielder who happens to occupy an area of the pitch which is crucial for starting your attacks.

This is literally the very things Henderson is great at and why his managers play him in that position.

I actually can't tell if you're being serious anymore.

What about if we compare Henderson with the player regarded the best in the league in the six position.

Henderson has made about 130 more passes in the same amount of games. Around 70% are forward passes. Average pass length is around 20 metres which also debunks the playing it safe line.

Kante has made around 130 less passes and only 63% are forward passes. Average pass length is only around 16 metres.

Of course where Kante comes into his own is the defensive side of his game but considering we don't play with a defensive midfielder it's the passing which is most important which is why Henderson is played there.

If you think Henderson is great at protecting the back 4 then I think you'll be in the minority.

Even the Echo poll is heavily in favour of Milner over Henderson.

And yes Robbing, i'm serious, he is too cautious. That might be a hard pill to swallow for you but it's quite straight forward to most.

This is hardly surprising given his unnecessary passes to defenders over and over and over.

It's not just about passing the ball forward either, it's carrying the ball up the field.

I think he's too cautious and it's to the detriment of our attack - you don't. Case closed.

No the case was closed when I proved that you've got it wrong. 70% of his passes are forwards. 7% and around 130 more passes more than Kante who is considered the best in the league in a similar position.

You dislike the player, I get it but this is clearly a case of confirmation bias. Everything you say is actually incorrect, it's what you want to believe.
