One more thing:

Why are we're still hearing ad nauseum about the EU's (supposed) 'intransigence' five years down the facking line?

Stripping the emotional rhetoric away, what good does complaining do, and what good does persisting with your comprehensively failed strategy do?

If you've decided to try to break out of a room you're trapped in by punching your way through a brick wall, and you do it until your hands are bloody stumps and still nothing has moved, then do you a) keep complaining at the wall whilst you continue to batter away in pain and tears, or b) maybe button it and try to think of another strategy less likely to deliver you further inevitable and unnecessary pain.

I mean, it's one of the most spectacular political bed-shattings of all time.

It's not far behind The Intolerable Acts and Diocletian splitting the Roman Empire in two.

Johnson lists some ways in which the government has already helped households with living costs, including £9.1bn to assist with energy bills, and a council tax rebate worth £150.

But, he says, “however great our compassion and our ingenuity, we cannot simply spend our way out of this problem”.

He says we need to “grow our way out of it, by creating hundreds of thousands of new high wage, high skilled jobs all across the country”.

They genuinely seem to think £150 is actually going to make a meaningful difference don't they?

In a crisis that will almost certainly worsen next winter.

"we got the big calls right"

Apart from it being a lie its basically a tacit admission they've facked up and are a bit shiiiit

Boris Johnson asserts the UK will once again have "the fastest economic growth in the G7" by 2024.

N.B. The Bank of England has just forecast UK GDP growth for that calendar year (2024) of just 0.35%

Yeah it grew the most in 2021 accorfing to a FT article I just read. But is projected to be the lowest growth in 2023.

The unsaid (by Boris) part of it growing most in 2021 is because it fell the furthest in 2020

Yeah, but that wasn't Boris' fault. We've all been reliably informed on here is was the lefts fault for promoting lockdowns.

Vardy is now being asked whether she respects other people's privacy. She says she does.

The court is now hearing quotes from an interview she once gave about having seex with Peter Andre: "Peter's hung like a small chipolata... the smallest trouser equipment I've ever seen."
