It always strikes me as weird that so many on here can't get passed the whole Priti bullying thing.

Personally I think it's great that she gave some lazy middle aged bed wetters at the civil service a rocket up their arse.

Surely the Rayner followers on here should like a strong woman?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
You can give a staff member a rocket up the arris without bullying them and breaking the ministerial code.

It doesn't have to be one or the other.

----------------------------------------------------------------------
The ministerial code is far too subjective and clearly doesn't work (56 mp's under investigation) as a deterrent for poor behaviour.

It should be done away with.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It's not a good enough deterrent, let's not have one altogether

*OR*

It's not good enough, let's strengthen it to make it a better deterrent?

Hmmm..
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I think we are agreeing, when I say it should be done away with I mean in its current form as it's not fit for purpose.

However I don't want a new version to get hung up on a bit of shouting at work. In my experience that goes on everywhere.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Really?

It's a matter of dignity, a fack up shouldn't mean you get reamed out in front of your colleagues ffs, everyone makes mistakes.

Absoloutley no justification for people being intimidated at work, I certainly wouldn't sit there and take it.

Must be terrible for that poor guy. His brother has been dead for over a decade and poor Peter is still in his shadow.

It always amazed me the Peter Hitchens has managed to form a successful career out of being bitter that he isn't as smart as his brother was.

Oops! Truth.

By the same token everyone gets angry and loses it from time to time, just human emotion.
Yes she was in the wrong, but as you say everyone makes mistakes.

Across the three government departments in which she served? It was no an isolated incident but misconduct across a number of departments over a prolonged period of time.

As well as being forced to settle (for close to £400,000) the Rutnam constructive dismissal case. Which meant she did not have to give evidence before the public tribunal.

And that's just in the last couple of years.

They've been on strike for the last 6 months by me anyway. They only collect every 3 weeks and the recycling guys do their best to refuse to take it every time they collect.

The US Supreme Court has struck down a New York law restricting gun carrying rights.

The law required residents who want a licence to prove "proper cause" to carry concealed weapons and that they faced "a special or unique" danger.

The 6-3 decision stated the requirement violates the Constitutional right to bear arms.

The ruling jeopardises similar restrictions in other states and expands gun rights.

Great, even less gun laws in the US now

I've always thought that the National Guard in each state were "...a well regulated militia".
But if they want to kill each other, that's their choice.
