Southgate must be interested in the bus formation.
He's been playing LWB for your lot, right? I don't see why we need him, Rose, Bertrand and Delph in the squad tbh. They've all been playing LB recently.

Think there's 6 FB's/WB's in the squad.
Why do people still see getting into the England squad as an achievement?
Have you seen some of the players who get in it
I expect he plans on using him on the bench to cover a few positions - LB, LWB, RB, RWB, LW, RW, SS. Not a bad option to have.
Bet delli gobchit is chitting himself now
Credit to him: he's obviously working hard in training and has found some good form.
He's still a little shaky at fullback, can wander a bit and gets caught out with wingers getting in behind every now and again, but his defensive game has undoubtedly improved.
He's played at least four different positions so far this season, nearly always completes 90 minutes when selected, works hard, has delivered a couple of assists in just a handful of games and has performed brilliantly in some matches - most notably in the CL, against Everton, Palace and Spurs.
That Jose went with him against Liverpool and Spurs says a lot, and if he continues in this vein throughout this term, he'll be able to look back on a very good season come June.
Lol I'm not going to say Ashley young has not done a good job for utd this year, but wtf haha.
goes to show even if you only play 5 games every couple years, if its for man utd, you will get an england cap.

Some truth in that but more poignantly it shows how poor our talent pool is.
England won't be top seeds in Russia so we'll be lucky to get out of the group stage.

What are you talking about? In the last 4 seasons Young has made the following number of appearances for United:
26
29
29
30
Yet he hasn't made the England team.
He has made the England team this season, having made 8 appearances, because he is in good form.
We want the England team to be picked on form, then you get the ABU wums like you moaning because a United player gets picked for his form, despite the fact he hasn't been in the squad for 4 years.
Don't you see how ridiculous you sound? The lad has played 114 times for United since last getting picked for his country, yet you only have to play a few games for United to get picked for England?
74 starts out of 114 appearances the previous 4 seasons. This season all 8 appearances have been starts.
christ didn't even know it was that much, 18 games starting out of about 50 a season is not great.
' The scenes'- what is that sheit?
Good on young, he's a pretty decent wide player and has probably a great delivery.

----------------------------------
No it isn't. He wasn't really playing especially well, so didn't get many starts. Which is probably why he wasn't getting in the England team. Are you starting to get this?
This season he has already started 8 games at about the quarter-way mark. If he continues at this rate he is on for 30+ starts this season. Considering he didn't even get a look in with the squad at the start of the season, he might actually end up closer to 40 starts this season if he can maintain this form.
All you have done is highlight the fact that he hasn't been picked for England when out of form, but now he is in form he is getting picked, both regularly for United and for England.
In fairness to Young, I should add that he has had a hell of a lot of injuries in the last 4 years too, so it has been very stop start in terms of getting fit and finding his form.
The England squad looks so unbalanced. We actually have some good young players with potential, can’t we just sack Southgate and get a decent manager in rather than waiting until we’ve been knocked out the WC after producing dour football along the way?

We must stay loyal to our traditions.
youngs averaged 24 games a season since he arrived, which shows how chocking the bloke is given hes not an injury prone type of player. fact is if he was any good in his position he wouldnt be in the full back role
Stretty has spoken. End of subject, Young is a very good player.
Anything that is drool translated to English a la Stretty is always wrong.
like say, Matic is rubbish.

He is pretty injury prone to be fair. He has averaged 4 injuries per year.
He's been injured quite often.
Good form but it does say how bad England are.
