If you made 50k profit on crypto how much tax would you pay??
----------------------------------------------------------------------
If you do it through a spread betting company .....none
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Interesting, any recommendations? I usually use coinbase
----------------------------------------------------------------------
The big ones are CMC markets, IG and Citi Index
Quite quite a few ETH at $900… time to stake and forget
Interesting situation with Celsius
Even as the company is in what appears to be its death spiral the CEL token is holding relatively steady
Apparently this is because most of the CEL tokens are held on the platform - which of course no one can get into to sell them. If they open withdrawals again, on top of everything else that comes along with a bank run, they will have to contend with their own token tanking straight down
To be safe i have withdrawn all my btw and eth to a cold wallet. Its a shame but the interest i was getting isnt worth the uncertainty atm

This is my main concern about trying to pick a bottom in thios crypto collapse, its the unknown exposure and the level of margin closing that could see a mad sell off that blows out any chart level.
Just look at oil in 2020 as an example

And that is one of the fundementall reasons behind the crpto sell off.
As soon as inflation got out of control causinga global rise in intetrest rates crypto was in trouble.
Much better to hold lower risk assets whose interest rates are increasing than higher risks assets with poor liquidity
I don't think people have remembered Bitconnect loans rekt the last cycle. They scammed a lot of people and history is repeating itself by having Celsius loans and 3 arrows capital.
You need to learn from past mistakes and errors. This market is full of scammers and charlatans.

What you thinking about inflation hedge plays? I think gold is caught in the asset bubble, up 117% on current gold holdings. But no idea where to put money

With interest rates going higher I don’t like Gold. Swiss Franc is usually a decent inflation hedge. It is not an inflation trade but I think the pound is in big trouble Of all the countries currently raising rates the UK seems closer to a recession than the others. I am short it agst Euro and Swiss and hoping it will get close to 1.25 agst the dollar so I can short it there.
I am not sure inflation goes much higher now anyway. I think UK and other countries are heading for a recession, not sure how bad though. So I expect long ter yields to start falling. I like buying UK ten year bonds and selling UK 2 Year bonds. I think the curve will get invert.

My wife is senior vice president at Citi Bank and she has been told there will be a major recession in the UK in 2023. They are busy increasing the salaries for their staff before it hits as they were told there will be nothing when it hits.
So seems Celsius have been advised to file bankruptcy

Off on holiday. But got your message. Will do transfer of your thread Saturday evening.
I may make a t t of myself, but I think we are about to witn3ss what I hope is the final leg lower in Bitcoin and Global Stock markets ...terrible inflation numbers in the US today and now possibility of a 1% hike next fed meeting.
Who will declare recession first? Europe or US?
Do you think crypto will get worse before it gets better?
Do you think it will get better ?

I don't think itt will be a prolonged or deep recession although Putin and Russia could make it worse
Crypto market lost 88% of its value after the last bull run. Think it’s only lost like 75% so far this time around.
Let's hope Bitcoin crashes further to 12k-14k.
