The thought of the reaction from spurs fans is enough to put me off that idea.

He, like our young squad, is always improving. He's become much more flexible tactically, and his subs are (for the most part) a lot better.

Spurs will continue to challenge.

Challenge what?

But yes, he's a great coach.

JFDI - i think it would answer a question. Is it the players not being ready? Is it the manager or is it just pressure from above?

Too much is made of Poch not winning anything.

Before Spurs he was never at a club really capable of competing for trophies.

At Spurs this is the first season when the bench has looked anything like strong. Going all out fr the cups would have compromised us is seasons when our smaller squad was actually in a title chase.....look at Jose, he gave up on the top for to chase the cups last season...so even at Utd they have to prioritise, with their huge squad. We missed out on the league but not really due to our failures but because CFC were the better team.

This season we are giving UCL a much better go and really should have seen WHU off in the league cup, being 2-0 up. we're in the mix in the league. But to win cups you need luck & quality. We now have the latter but the luck of the draw and luck on the day counts for a lot. Spurs played very well vs Chelsea in last seasons FA Cup SF and lost. Not saying that Chelsea were lucky but on another day 2 or 3 of their goals could have found row z. they dont always fly into the corner like that...especially 3 out of 5 shots on target all game.

These fine margins make the difference between cups and not but it does not make Poch a poor manager IMO even if we continue to go close without winning. Difficulty is then then becomes a thing, and some times its hard to shake that tag. I really hope Poch succeeds as much because I am a spurs fans as because he is a really great manager, a great bloke and deserves it.

Great coach, can tell by the loss of walker(meh) and the loss of rose(quality player) and they have not struggled one bit.

Dier in defence has done well, vertonghen at lb done great. and trippier and davies too.

Manages to get the best out of his players that's for sure.

As i said above. It would answer our questions (kinda) about our own academy graduates.

You forget you could well have had 2 players sent off. It would have been another 5-1 then

Think poch would be very good at Utd. I'd quite like him here.as for the trophies, they will come he's up against it with Spurs who spend far less than their immeadiate rivals and still play some excellent football.

tbh anything that wakens spurs is good

Spurs have a good team but a grossly underpaid one according to some of thier players so pull out the keystone and who knows how they might go.

It'd be a shame for them of course but as rivals its them or us like.

I suppose you could also ask would he get the time at Chelsea.

Personally can't see the required celestial bodies ever being lined up enough for this one to happen mate.

No point tagging Liverpool. Even Poch couldn’t make Horrenderson look good.

The idea of Pochettino as Chelsea manager I haven't given any thought what so ever, too far fetched to even hypothetically imagine. It's impossible to look beyond seeing him as United's next manager right now. Seems like his natural destination within the next 2/3 years.

I can't help but think if Conte leaves next summer, our new manager will be Julian Nagelsmann. The pattern of Roman's appointments seem to go Mourinho, prestigious Italian, young prodigy, Mourinho, prestigious Italian.... young prodigy. So also expect Mourinho part 3 when Nagelsmann gets found out of his depth

On the question of trophies, it depends on expectations of course.

Pochs net spend is about ten million pounds.

During the same period, Arsenal's is over one hundred. One hundred and forty I think but I don't recall exactly. Manchester United's is considerably greater still. Liverpool and City's is also considerable.

If you are dumb enough to believe that doesn't matter, then clearly you could make the argument he isn't doing particularly well because he hasn't won anything.

Anyone who understands context though will take a more positive view of what he has done.

There is another way of looking at it too. If Chelsea were subject to the same financial limitations as Tottenham are now, would they ever win anything again? Another way of putting it is had they been subjected to them in the past, would they have won anything at all?

The answer is probably not. Underlinesjust how what Leicester did what do unprecedented and historic. And look what happens after, Chelsea take their best player with ease.

Just need to look at how much worse all of Spurs' players are for England to see what a good manager he is. Pretty sure he could make me look like a decent PL player given a few months.

No I would not be happy to see Pochettino succeed Conte.I want Conte to stay as Chelsea manager for at least two more seasons after the current season and I want Diego Simeone to succeed Conte as Chelsea manager.

We are subject to the same limitations as Tottenham as is every club. The more you earn the more you can spend and we were earning more than Tottenham pre Roman. We also probably won more than Tottenham in the 20 years before Roman than Spurs did when they also had a spell of buying the best around like Gascoigne, Waddle, Lineker,, klinsman etc.

Spurs are doing very well, try being less bitter with it.
