One foot in front of the other mate until the steps get easier.

Don't go cold turkey though, you might seem fine at first but the blackness can return with a vengeance I believe.

What's your ride?

Been there. I was taken off them cold turkey but then I was having severe panic attacks. I was able to remove what was causing the attacks from my life thankfully.

Nothing a good long walk or run these days can’t do to clear my mind. All I need to do is look at where my life is at now and realise how lucky I am compared to some

I know that approach won’t work for everyone

However we were all born the same with nothing. We all put our socks on one at a time and we all die regardless of wealth or happiness.

So just enjoy every day as it comes

Do you work for DWP? if so that must be most depressing and a career change might do you the world of good.

Couldn't agree more.
Have a couple of old friends who were going through similar and have changed their lives through walking, running and general exercise.
I do the park run most Saturday mornings at the Waterworks. Great fun and camaraderie.

More than welcome to come along mate.

Staying away from rseholes stops depression too.

He supports rangers, Chelsea and Linfield. He’s going to have to give up all 3 for that to happen.

All the best tbbab. There’s a long road ahead, but it’s worth the fight.

TBAB good luck mate. I refer to it as the dark shadow rather than black dog but can relate to what you have experienced with depression. No booze, gym, running and long walks has been my way through dark times this past 11 years.

Cheers but it’s a bit of a trek from Glasgow

I’ve not lived in Lisburn for 10 years now

The Mrs now and then, but on a regular basis a 1997 Suzuki Bandit 600.Very old school, street fighter style and noisy as fuq!

You a biker, bud?

My Mrs has been on happy tabs for ten years and at the hearing test told me not to do cold turkey.
Seeing doctor on Monday for advice etc.

Apparently the balance of chemicals in the brain has a lot to do with depression, drugs can balance this out.
Exercise and being with the right people always helps.

Staying away from alcohol and drugs helps too.

In drink, E, speed, dope or cigs for years.

Lots of outdoor running, cycling, walking stuff, but with darker nights I am in more.....part of my yearly SAD and always had this Dr m teens.
