More a case of how close you get to the champions. Arsenal finishing 2nd to Leicester 10 pts behind is not as close as finishing 3rd 4 pts behind.

I can't see who is going to beat them. Possibly they'll catch Liverpool, Spurs or United on a good day away from home. That's about it.

We go through this every season. 11 points or whatever it might be is nothing. It's naive and foolish to think City won't drop points between now and May. All it takes is one game where they absolutely batter a team but only get a draw and that sets the wheels off in motion.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
City may drop points, but some team from the chasing pack would need to go on a 10+ game winning streak to take advantage, non of them this season look capable of doing that

posted on 20/11/17

city can be gt at but you have to actually have a go and not sit bk hoping for the best, the most vulnerable they have looked this year is the cl, shaktar were going toe to toe with them until they fell 2-0 behind and Napoli were also a match for them until they conceded, city however have no let up, they dnt have 10-15 rest periods to let teams back into games you have to be on for a full 90mins against them

posted on 20/11/17

Spurtle you must not know how the Premier league works then buddy.

They will drop points. Points to teams who everyone thought they would never drop points against

Remember that 'easy run in' arsenal had a few years back. People had them down for the title. They lost/drew most of those games from what I can remember. I know Man City aren't Arsenal but you get my drift.

City are exceptional.

I don't think United are equipped to go toe to toe with City. Still too many average players at United, by next season It would be fair to expect that though.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

De Gea
Valencia Bailly Jones Blind
Matic
Mata Pogba
Rashford Lukaku Martial

Nobody is telling me that that XI is miles behind City. The difference at the moment is the managers. One has got his team clicking on a style that suits them, the other has not - not yet, not consistently.

I wonder if these Arsenal fans who speak like City are their 2nd team will start to change their tune if City look like doing an "invincible" season?

You can rule Man Utd out then. Arsenal tried it and failed the other week.

Arsenal are historically unreliable. A City team full of quality being managed by Pep in a more familiar second season is a different kettle of fish.

City will accumulate around 100 points this season. I'll bet my life on it.

$puds have shown how pathetic they are when Kane get's injured

Liverpool will do a lot better than 6th if they
1) keep Coutinho
2) Salah keeps his form up
3) Mane stays fit

Arsenal might struggle if Sanchez goes in January...which is likely...i'd still like Chelsea to steal him but he'll go abroad probably

Utd might go on a spree if they can fit Ibra in with Lukaku too

From a utd perspective that huddersfield loss gets worse the more you reflect on it.

3 points facked away. 🙈

Strange to think that City still haven't broken the record for the best ever start to a PL campaign. They will however if they win their next game against Huddersfield.

I think it's City's to lose, of course, but Pep and quite a few of the players haven't won anything in england.

--------------------------------------------------------------------
Both sides have top keepers, De Gea being the better of the two.

Mendy is a fantastic LB, Delph doing well currently, Blind is average and Shaw is a pie. Probably not much in it while Mendy is out.

CB's City's are slightly better, Stones and Otamendi have been very good this season, Kompany a good player if he can stay fit. Bailly for United is a good player, Smalling and Jones are not at the same level.

At RB Valencia has done a decent job but Walker is much better.

In centre midfield City have De Bruyne who is the best player in the league at the moment up against Pogba who is another fantastic player but still not as good as KDB. Fernandinho and Matic partnering them, nothing splits them.

Silva is better than Mata.

Sterling and Rashford, not much between those two but Sterling just edges it.

Martial v Sane, again not much in it but Sane produces more so edges it.

Up top Aguero or Jesus both beat Lukaku for me for all round play.

Then when you get to looking at benches, City are considerably ahead. United need another 2 windows, move on some deadwood and bring in the right players and under Jose they will be ready to go toe to toe with City next season.

To be honest, what does that matter? Pelegrini never won anything in England before his first season. Same with Aguero. It's not as if the players who haven't won in England before aren't good enough to.

Every season there is a team who start extremely well and look unbeatable. At some point they will have a tough period.

The weekend is a perfect example of things going well. Kompany should be off after 2 minutes, at 1-0 Leicester hit the pot and City go and score.

When things are going your way these things fall for you. It's how you deal with adversity which will undoubtedly come Cities way at some point. I think they'll prove too strong for anybody to catch this season, but people are going overboard with claims they are unbeatable.

Then why does it matter for arsenal... that's the point

That's exactly my point busby. Every single season this happens. People claim that Team X are unbeatable now and they'll go on to get 200 points or something

Trust me they will drop points and it won't be the landslide league win that everyone is talking about it.

When it does happen, you can come back and say "hey you were right. I should have listened to you instead of falling for the hype".

All teams drop points during a season. The aim for City though is to drop as few points as possible compared to our rivals.
Just like Chelsea did last season.

Whilst I agree, I still think they'll be too strong this season.

We will know a lot more come January after a busy Christmas. I've a sneaky feeling that without Stones during that period, and Kompany always close to an injury they may struggle.

Will be interesting to see how Jose sets up against them.... can see another herrera man marking job coming up on kdb.
