Gerrard captained the side to two finals and was in the team of the year three times on the bounce while Liverpool were literally classed the best team in Europe.

You could say Seedorf could be in there but let's not pretend Gerrard was anything but fvcking excellent in Europe for 3-5 years because he was. Hence the plaudits, results and medal.

Steven Gerrard currently holds the most appearances in the PFA Team of the Year in the Premier League era with 8 appearances and he did that in really poor teams according to most on here.

Pique instead of Cannavaro ...... NO CHANCE !! Id also have Neuer in place of Casillas. Pique doesnt hold a candle towards Cannavaro

Gerrard while being a cracking midfielder should be nowhere near the XI.

Zidane, Kaka, Ronaldinho (as a CAM) Lampard, Pirlo should all be ahead of Gerrard and that's just of the top of my head.

Every great team has a weak link,normally a player that isn't as good as others but always seems to get a game.

Can be the only reason why S Gerrard is in it.

Won player of the year, won the ballon d'or, won Seria A player of the year, made it in world cup team of the year. All this century. Apart from the he won nothing
