I can see the conundrum pp faces with Alf. Can't play him on his own up front as his legs have gone. Fine in a two with madine but can't play just 2 in midfield as no one good enough so get over run in midfield and exposed at the back as shown on Saturday. Also can't play 3 at the back to get Alf in the team as that has been disastrous this season so have to play a back 4. Wolves and Wigan had the same problems getting him in the team. I see a parting of the ways in January maybe on loan. Would like to see hall given a go at least off the bench to see how good he is. I know he scored but it was against Crewe reserves. Need major upgrades this January. Keeper, left back, centre midfield and striker. Maybe a change of play. Try keeping the ball and not letting the opposition dominate possession.

Halls got that eye for being in the right place right time and finishing the job but not the first team yet not until the so called first team change the way they play.
There's a big difference in styles of play below the first team it will be hard without a sustained run and chance to adapt if they only get thrown in here and there either as a reward or due to a shortage of players in the first team they'd soon be written off never to be seen again. We've two or three in the U23's who are looking good best we don't kill their chances off altogether under PP. Once upon a time wasn't the plan to "become a trading club" I believe we need to play the same way in the 1st and 2nd team to ease that step up I wouldn't suggest asking Jimmy and David to change and play to match the first team now though.

Reading 3 Barnsley 0 final score, with our week off we will be champing at the bit , Barnsley will be very tired and downbeat on Saturday 🤣🤣🤣.
