Bench him and play Lamela. He needs a kick up the arris for sure, his head isn’t in it at all.

Problem then is he’d probably get the hump and leave in the summer

I like Ross Barklay who can play as an attacking midfielder, start Lamela and bring in Lanzini. I KNOW he's West Ham but putting prejudices aside he's a fairly decent player.

Allí has been dispossessed this season more than any other PL player with Richarlison a close second. I don't mind if Alli leaves because he is showing inconsistency. Maybe he thinks his 2 "efforts" against Madrid were enough to keep him playing regardless and it's gone to his head.

I think he gets unfair stick/people don't understand what he does.

Was one of our better players against WBA, one of our best vs Liverpool, great in the CL, and better than Eriksen (in worse form) & Kane against Arsenal.

People got so used to seeing him play so high up the pitch and measuring his output in goals & assists, but now he plays much more as a midfielder people aren't appreciating his better participation in general play and defensive contribution.

Still out second highest productive player.

I put this down to a unfair high expectations without taking into accounts other circumstances.

1, he’s incredibly young so will have inconsistentcies
2, other players around him are also a bit off form which effects him
3, he’s played deeper and asked to help out defensively more
4, went through a similar period around the same time last season with fans turning on him before picking up form and everyone loving him again

Chronic, btw Lanzini is genuinely quality. You will need to watch him more.

I think Lanzini is one of those players who stands out at a fairly poor club but isn't good enough to make the step up to a club playing in the Champions League.

I disagree completely, considering the quality of players he plays around & against he regularly creates lots of chances and rarely looses the ball. He makes a team tick with a lot of sub-par footballers (Carrol, Hernandez, Antonio, Kouyate etc all being weak at possession football). What he does is even more impressive considering he is at a fairly poor club.

I don't make a point of watching west ham, but whenever I do see them its 50 50 as to whether he will show up or not.

we have sold better squad players in recent years tbh..... siggy, chadli etc

I like Lanzini tbh. Reminds me off Coutinho at Inter although older. Shows flashes but doesn’t do it regularly. Just like Coutinho once he steps up to a better team I reckon he’d become top class

I would say his days of being inconsistent left when he became the main man after Payet left.

We would sign him more for his ball-retention skills than anything, as a player he is comparable to Eriksen in terms of position and style. He is also an exceptionally good dribbler of the ball, something we don't really have in the team (completes more than twice the amount of dribbles a game than Son does).

There is no beating around the bush and pretending everything is fine and dandy. Ali has been absolutely s** pretty much all season. Can't seem to control the ball and runs into blind alleys far to much. He seems to have lost the ability to release the ball and just fumbles about with it. He has scored a few goals but it papers over the cracks on how poor he has been. I do like Ali a lot and he's a super talented young player but there is no 2 ways about it, he has been w*** all season pretty much.

Wouldn’t mind Lanzini tbh. Looks like a talented footballer struggling in a seriously unstructured team. I Poch is good at anything it’s gettibg the best out of players. I’m still counting on us signing Barkley though, no idea how his injury is going, Big Sam said the other day he’s more or less already gone.

Big Sam said he wasn't going Everton but there he is so I never believe anything footballers, coaches or chairmen say.

Fair point, although I’ll be very very surprised if Barkley is still an Everton player come February.
