I don't see how Kylo Ren can be so bad at fighting if he's been training for so long, any other sith/jedi we've seen would have had no trouble with all them guards alone.

Judging by how TLJ played out, The Knights of Ren will come barnstorming into the movie in the first scene, totally badass wiping out an entire race of creatures, but will ultimately perish in a custard pie fight comedy relief scene

Man i loved this movie personally. Some bold choices. It’s not about the original cast. It’s about moving on from them.

Wouldn’t shock me if Snoke pulled a Luke tho, and comes back in the next one as he was never actually there.

Had a quick read through the comments and i agree with you hengy personally. I think we will learn more of snoke in the next film anyway and as i said Given what happened with Luke im still not 100% he’s gone myself.

I think we’ll time jump a good 5 years, rey will have been training with Luke and be much more powerful, the war will have ravaged the galaxy, leia will be dead, and Kylo will have his own apprentice.

But i loved the space battles, i thought Po’s character arc was great, didn’t get enough of him in the first one. Rey and Luke on the island, finding out what happened with ben, Luke being a shell of the man we left at the end of ROTJ due to his failings, disillusioned with the Jedi and needing yoda to bring him back from there, rey struggling with the dark side herself, the bond between her and ben. The throne room scenes, and Luke turning up at the end to teach ben one final lesson before he departed.

I didn’t enjoy Finns storyline, although it would have been a better one had he made th sacrifice at the end. Rose i didn’t like, didn’t like purple haired lady either. Phasma they just need to get rid of for sure now. If they had plans to bring her back again then they need to scrap them, they’ve shown a failure to make her a meaningful character in two films now.

All in all for me the positives far outweigh the negatives, and i look forward to watching it again and seeing how they finish this trilogy.

Looked to me like she put on weight halfway through the film.

I like Luke death tbh. For me him to do that shows how powerful with the force he is. Remember kylo saying to Rey she couldn’t be doing the mind melt thing as it would kill her.

Looked like Luke projected to Tatooine with the double sun.

Yep she looked fleshier.

I thought he'd survive that projection but I guess the effort was too much for him. The twin sun was a nice full circle moment. For a moment, I assumed it was really Luke facing Kylo and I was anticipating a force wielding scene like no other but Luke has always had the subtle force power and the projection made sense.

Soon as I saw him knew it wasn’t actually him. Went from looking like a scruffy old man to exactly like he did in the flashback where he went to kill Ben solo.

I’m annoyed it’s going to be JJ again for 9. Going to go back to safely safely again.

Kylo Ren has to die though. He just has to.
Or him and Rey do team up to form an alliance of some kind.
But I’d say right now, they are on a collision course for Ep 9.

Which was also stupid.

Yoda taught Luke that lifting an X-Wing was no different to lifting a small rock. It’s not the size of the task at hand. It’s only a matter of belief and feeling.

Using the force shouldn’t kill you or drain energy.

A Jedis energy flows ‘from’ the force.

Mark Hamill said that he fundamentally disagreed with Rian johnsons version of Luke and I have to agree with him on it.

The audience score on Rottenness Tomatoes is plummeting fast.

Anyone suggesting that killing off the big 3 was necessary to pass the torch is talking nonsense. It’s an excuse for bad writing.

This Idea of passing the torch is fine but fgs, don’t do it in a mere 2 movies.

Disney will be spitting out Star Wars films for the next few decades. There’s plenty of time to embed new themes and characters.

There’s no need to wipe the slate clean so quickly.

And yet it’s very high on IMDB. Both sites allow people to post scores without having even seen the film. So neither are accurate imo.

Cinemascore takes only people who have seen the film, their audience score sits at an A at present.

It’s clearly torn people. Some love it some don’t. I personally love it and think a lot of the gripes people have are simply due to their fan fiction not coming true. I thought the take on Luke was a very interesting direction.

And have you ever considered that mark hammil perhaps isn’t really that keen to do another 4 films or whatever? I’m 100% convinced he’ll be in the next one training rey as a force ghost so we’ll still see him plenty for one more film.

I'm being serious when i say I wouldn't give the film more than 2/10

The 2 is for the space battles and Yoda. Everything else was complete crap and wasted potential
