I think at the time the club thought Jose was here for the long term so backed his decisions about who he did and did not want.

All clubs sell or miss out on the next big thing at one time or another, its not like we havnt won anything since they was sold.

With Salah in particular, I don’t think any of our fans mourned his loss when was sold. Too busy crediting the club for the fee we got for him.

In fact quite a few of our fans on other social media platforms were mocking the Scousers for paying £40m for him.

As I say, hindsight is a wonderful thing.

different teams different systems

jose likes to limit the amount of attacking players in his team to ensure solidity throughout, his perception of an attacking player is often a negative one

His"dossier" on Eden Hazards faults highlighted that point

Salah was chit,

De Bruyne was one more attacking player he didnt want in the team,

didnt fit what jose wanted, a big shame as he is world class now.

Was more gutted when we sold Schurrle, shows what I know

Imagine them 2 in the same side with Hazard

A real shame for Chelsea.

Wasnt really sold on Salah or De Bruyne.

Salah was garbage for us and we had a whole host of attacking players when KDB was here (Mata, Oscar, Hazard, Schurrle, Willian) so when he went it wasn't really a suprise.

Hazard is a level above Salah, Anyone who says otherwise is deluded.

In hindsight im gutted about De Bruyne now, Such a talent.

At least we haven't made the same mistake with Christensen.

Allowing KDB to go was all on Jose though. He is solely to blame for that. Only Mourinho himself knows why he demoted KDB to the under 21's not long after he got MOTM in his first PL start for us.

Maybe one day one day we'll get an answer. Wouldn't hold your breath though. Can see KDB being a future Ballon D'Or winner which makes it all the more painful.

I didn't mind about Salah. KDB though should have been treated better. I believe we could have been smarter with Cuadrado though, we still owned him last season and did nothing to take him back even though he's suited to RWB.

I can see him being a mainstay if he stays injury free, for the rest of the season.

Did anyone see Pep approach him after our loss at the Bridge? Wonder if he'd like to make a cheeky bid? lol

De Bruyne is painful, that error alone makes Jose's second spell a damp squib.

Wierdly tho, Salah i just don't care, i think he's in the perfect set up for him and wouldn't be half as effective for us.

How can you say Salah was garbage when he wasn't used? same goes with De Bruyne? De Bruyne actually left because he felt he should be starting and Jose at that time said he wasn't patient enough.

We should move one. We made money on those players maybe that's Chelsea's priority. After all, the management are in a money making business

questions Jose's eye for talent....doesn't it

It's funny and quite ironic that KDB left because we gave Jose control, yet people wanted to give him full control to turn 15/16 around

Fair point and comments from everyone. Watching KDB is painful now but I remember at the time not being fazed at all. Thought we got a good fee, I completely trusted Jose's judgement, and the sale of Mata in the same window was a bigger talking point. He is Jose's biggest mistake, and I'm sure when he's retired and had time to reflect he'll sat as much, but I can't honesty say I thought he was wrong.

Same with Salah. Seemed like another pace merchant for us, the goalscoring touch he's developed since leaving I simply didn't see (foolish of me in hindsight as he always scored against us with Basel).

The silver lining here is the club have learnt their lesson. Wasn't even the slightest doubt that Christensen wouldn't get a fair shake this season, and without KDB performing as he has done that just wouldn't have been the case - probably would've swapped him for Van Dijk or something. It was a mentality we needed to correct (giving proven players their chance/trusting our loan system for something other than a workaround FFP), and I believe we have now... e.g. If he keeps his form for the duration of the season, I have every confidence RLC will at least get a squad place next season.

I have seen this comment from others...and disagree..if you swapped Salah for either of Pedro or Willian currently...both of whom are decent...there would be a big difference...the guy is on fire...that goal at the weekend was pure persistence...and belief in his ability and current form

S'lah seems at his best when Liverpool are playing with such high intesity and 100mph, in games that the opposition have shut Liverpool down and slowed the game, he shown some of the same frustrating signs he did with us.

We don't play with the intesity Liverpool do 90% of the time, we prefer to build up patiently, try neat passing patterns and cause overloads and im not sure he would be half as effective with those tactics, he would still be good but not quite what we are seeing now.

A bit like a reversal with Luiz, our system last season he fitted like a glove, but would have had a mare if he went to Liverpool instead.

Salah always had talent before signing for Chelsea. He was showing great performances for Basel in Champions League. Luiz should also be retained by Chelsea.

Losing Salah never troubled me, and still doesn't. KDB was class when he played for us pre-season before that injury. Regretted selling KDB from day one.
