New Forest Manager...?

Warburton's sacking wasn't planned; a crisis decision was made to let McParland go, probably linked to some/all of the players he wished to recruit.

Then Warb's threw his toys out the cot, hence the present chaos. It's incredibly spoilt and childish to only be able to work with a small select group of people.

To be fair most of their signings have been successful bar Darikwa.

I’d add an allegedly to all that, Len..

Allegedly 😆

But it’s some coincidence such a proportion of our signings and targets are SPL based and represented by an agency Warbs daughter worked for!! What kind of a job must it be to be a Director of Football with agents throwing cash at ya to buy their players, it’s an area of the game that needs more scrutiny and hopefully rooting out the corruption as it’s fans and clubs who suffer as we re the ones still there stuck with these expensive puddings when these cowboys disappear out have trotted on up the road 👊🏻

Hecking is 1/3 with the bookies now.

I'm in the minority and would like to see him go.

He inherited Johnson's team and did a good job with them, but the players he has brought in since that team was dismantled has been pretty chit.

The football is negative, we've scored 5 goals in 11 games. Home record of 4 wins in a calender year and 1 win in 11 games.

Take him, I think now we're billionaires we can attract a manager better than the usual suspects we've had.

Why would be even poking at a manager with those kind of stats, I was under the impression we are about moving forward, don’t see Heckingbottom in that category, he certainly won’t achieve those kind of stats at CG, as he wouldn’t last a year. He would be nothing more than another short term appointment. I see Maranakis {sp ?)] has just put Oscar Garcia in charge of Olympiakos, so at least he will be used to doing managerial candidates interviews.

Because he is a local lad, the Barnsley fanbase and media seem to have given him this messiah label.

Fair enough he got us promoted and won Paint Trophy, but conversley that was Johnson's team.

With the stats I mentioned and what has happened since we sold our players last January, if that was a non-local manager then i'm pretty sure we would've sacked him by now.

I agree. If there is truth in it, it’s a massive disappointment. Warburton seemed to have his head screwed on right. If they’ve have upset the Forest hierarchy with their exploits then hey didn’t really have a choice.

On the flip side, it could all be rumours spread by the anti-Warburton brigade. We probably won’t ever find out properly.

Hammered at Meeow today. Do you think the players know he is going?...

posted on 6/1/18

Maybe, but just another typical performance from this team under the Hecky post-January 2017 regime.

It’s making me wonder whether Forest are going down the right line targeting him...

I don't think you are, I mean you can see from my previous posts on here that i'm not even bitter about it, i'm really glad.

Maybe I'll be proven wrong and my comments look foolish, but I just can't see it somehow. I'd have Warburton over him.

Well, so would I!

Apart from the fact that the rumours about the reason he really left don’t make for pleasant reading.

posted on 6/1/18

I could see him actually coming to Barnsley now we have money to spend, he rejected us in 2013, but things are different now.

posted on 6/1/18

He has some good ideas and deserves a chance (provided there aren’t any issues behind the scenes). I think he would get the patience he would need at a club like Barnsley.

Exactly what I was thinking.

But yeah Heckingbottom is 1/5 now, alot of talk on Twitter that he will be your manager by Monday. Seems very likely now.

Appointing PH would show the Greek owners to be no more forward thinking than Fawaz, tbh I have no idea why they bought our club, they have Olympiakos, who are obviously their number 1 priority. PH’s record indicates he is league 1 manager, but like Barnesley at the moment struggles in the Championship, unless the Greeks see us as league 1. I believe we are in such a dire situation most managers worth their salt won’t touch us. I am probably more disillusioned now than I have been for a long time. If PH is appointed I think it could set us back another 3-5 years.

Unless the rumours are true about MW then swapping him for Heckinbottom makes no sense. It is an underwhelming decision and unless he can get the fans on side quickly, I think he is going to have a hard time of it.

I hope I am wrong but I cannot see him lasting 12 months. I find it hard to understand why he is our top choice when Karanka is available.

Lack of vision, unwillingness to invest from the owners, serious question, why did they buy in in the first place, they obviously have little or no interest in the club, maybe another tax dodge ?

posted on 7/1/18

It's starkly obvious the club was not intending to get rid of Warburton and that he has walked out after his mate got the chop.

What is more worrying is that if the Board didn't like McParland's January targets, that there appears to be no alternatives lined up that are more suitable.
Also that serious professional people couldn't agree on a compromise.

The lack of communication between the club and it's fans is also becoming a issue.

Is anybody interested in todays game, because tickets are still on sale.

The Arsenal lot don't appear to be!

My vote goes to Brazil!

posted on 7/1/18

I like Brazil but he is doing a fantastic job at the academy and is a safe pair of hands as a fall back option if we lose a manager. Keeping him at the academy means he stays at the club and we really do need him at the moment.

Just for once I would like to attempt to go for MON. If he says no then so be it but at least try. What a statement it would be and it would pay for itself with the fans flocking to the ground!

Karanka has gone from 20/1 this morning to 2/1 tonight. What has happend?

Paul Bottom doesn't have a great record tbh.

1W 3D L9 in the last 12

I know Barnsley have been asset stripped this season, but last season ended with 1 win in 14, or 2 in 18. Again, they had a bad January transfer window, but still.

Karanka was sacked with 25 points from 25 games in the EPL. Boro got 6 points from there last 13 games.

The season before he got them promoted.

The season before the Play-Off Final.

Yeah, he fell out with everyone when he left, but don't most managers?! 😂

Other than that? I have no idea. I wouldn't rush it if no-one is available, I'd stick with Brazil for Villa at least.

I would be very surprised if Karanka happens now that the Stoke job is available, unless they steal Rowett off the Rams...

I agree stick with Brazil rather than rush into an appointment but it is all happening at the worst possible point of the season. All we need now if for the owners to cash in on the inevitable new interest in Brereton...
