I'd be really disappointed if Conte left, easily my favourite manager since Mourinho left (the first time).

Flash you're right, there is no upgrade on Conte. He's the best manager we've had since Jose's first stint at the club.

For that reason I can't get my head round why the club hasn't fully backed Conte in the transfer market.

It does seem that Ancelotti will be in charge next season though. Maybe he's more accepting of the club's more fiscal approach to spending.

Either way if Conte leaves then anyone else barring maybe Simeone is a step down.

Jose's going home

You can have Jose back when he leaves us this summer.

Wouldn't be at all surprised if you got Simeone, seems like the right kind of manager for you.

Superb because giving Conte whatever he wants probably only gets us 1 more season (and we have spent a lot since he took over - around £320m including Barkley)? If he walked away from Juve and Italy, he wasn't going to suddenly decide to stay with us long term.

I think most people know Conte hasn't had the backing he wanted, i was shocked that in fact he has spent a lot of money.

But his signings on the whole haven't been great, the money he has had he should have used better

One of the best around without any doubt. The league is forcing fans to be hyper critical of their team because City have just been incredible.
Apart from Bakayoko I cant see a signing I would say is a bad one for you,sold or got rid of players when time was up and difficult to get an upgrade on Conte unless like I feel is probably needed at United you get an unproven up and comer to reinvigorate the club and its structure,even then where can we start.

Conte is not in charge of our transfers, neither are other managers (including Jose at Utd) apart from Wenger that is.

Sorry, I know the club is bigger than any individual, but I don’t see anyone out there that we would/could get that would be an upgrade on Conte.

Conte is a fantastic manager but I actually disagree with that. There are a few out there who could follow him.

I like to pick the brains of any Juventus fan any chance I get (everyday life & on the internet) to get their views on Conte, and interestingly why'll every one to a man have had nothing but praise for him, a recurring theme among them is a lack of fuss over his departure. The general conscious (and his time with us backs it up) is that his main skill is building a defensive structure which could potentially evolve into a more expansive side, but he's not the man to do that. Almost every single one felt Allegri was an upgrade.

The issue here for me would just be replacing quality with quality. Obviously the priority should be keeping him, but it's not the end of the world if he goes.

Why does backing Conte only get us 1 more season with him? If he's happy and feels he has full backing then who's to say he wouldn't stay for several seasons ?

Whose place will Barkley take?
Chelsea owner has a quick trigger finger, Conte might be gone at the end of the season unless he pulls off something great in Europe.
