I think considering the following:
- No real chance to shape the squad with his own players (or requests for types of players, etc.), and therefore unable to judge whether this is a positive or negative;
- The nature of his interviews;
- He's demonstrated some success in encouraging a more possession-based football while still being open to the known entity of direct counterattack;
- He hasn't been able to make pressing work that well and our defence is inconsistent at best;
- He's been brave to invest in youth when he can, accepting of the mixed results that so often brings;
- On a personal note, he hasn't committed to the cups as much as I would have liked;
- He's kept the squad largely engaged, warmed to players like Albrighton and Okazaki, and kept both Mahrez and Vardy involved and interested - indeed that he may be convincing Mahrez to stick around;
- That he could perhaps do more to change matches, i.e. while not a massive problem I think his subs could be better at times (although no complaints today);
- That he's racked up points to enable us to climb the table and challenge in the top half;
- That it's close between two integers but I'm feeling generous...
I'll go with a rating of 8/10.
7.5/10
Echo Dunge’s statements around evolving the team whilst not losing our identity and strengths.
He’s also finally managed to get this bunch of players holding on to the ball and playing some nice possession football.
Marks deducted for our continued defensive frailties (although he looks to be working on these) and general dullness meaning I can’t bear to listen to him ever.
So far though, so good.
However, I’ll judge him when he’s genuinely had enough time. Midway through next season after two transfer windows and a good year to get his ideas across.
Today was delightful though. 10/10 for today...
he makes me dizzy with all this rotation
and i cant understand him
6/10
7/10. Dismal in the Carabou cup and FA cup. Very good in the league.
I thought he proved it today. Looked so much fitter than Chels. Played them off the park at times and puts to bed any doubts of Fleetwood selection.
Very encouraging though really early days yet of course
Let’s see how we have progressed this time next year
To think that the liikes of Mark Hughes throws these games, that would wind me up. He gets 10/10 from me.
Oh Dear 7&6's for a manager who has taken to our highest position since our premier league winning season. Intergrating young players rotating player.
Getting a point at Chelsea with 10 men with at some times during the match 60% possession creating 12c goal scoring opportunities. so the dull negative branding says more about the players at Southampton than him.
What more do you expect 9/10 so lets see as for knocking points off for the cup thing ever manager has done the same and we will win on Tuesday with the same team that scraped a draw.
What marks out of ten would those who marked Puel down give Shakey?
Considering
The football that he has the team playing
Tactics and the available playing staff
7-8 /10
The squad available through injuries and transfer market activity is definitely got to be a hindrance,
There's not much activity in the transfer news dept is this because,,,,,,
The club is at its set wage budget and need to sell some players?
Available players are not what he's targeting?
He's instructed the club with target only players no stop gaps on silly contract fill ins mr rudkin?
We will really have to wait and see who he target's in the summer and how we are doing at Christmas 2018,
Claude needs to work on his public speaking, he is a very pleasant boy and works hard to get his message across,
He's done well in this first half of term but as always there's room for improvement,
Potentially to a 9/10
For shakey
It would depend on how his motivation was doing with the players,
But probably 7/10
But id be marking him against him self
So what your really after is head to head score,
Considering shakey had to pick up the team after the sacking and get them functioning again
5/6 - for shakeys tenure
7/8 - for Claude so far
CP 6 - so far
CS - 5
CR - 8
NP - 11
What more do I expect Nev?
Not drawing with Fleetwood Away.
Not going 5 games without a win.
Not looking like we’ll concede 2 a game.
There’s no denying Puel has had a solid start and has done lots of things right. Dunge lays them out well.
But to suggest he is a 9 or a 10 to me says he’s got nearly everything right. He hasn’t.
Like his personality though, he’s quietly building something which looks very very promising.
Any credit to Appleton from you? Or is he just lucky to be guided by Puel?
Haha do i credit Appleton why because he's English ? do i credit Appleton for Shakespeare's failure. I think Appletons learning a lot and to see him sitting next to Puel shows he respects him that good enough for me.
Not drawing with Fleetwood Away.....Harsh they could of beaten us.Not Puels fault that fleetwood played so well and our premiership players did not fancy it.
Not going 5 games without a win. really ? you are joking you really don't like him we are as high as we have been since we won the EPL?
Not looking like we’ll concede 2 a game. Now you in la la land did we look like we would concede one goal yesterday even with 10 men.

Glad I could help - have a nice day 😝
On the Nigel front.
I met up the head of sports science who's out with him in Belgium. Nigel's enjoying the challenge its like Leicester was 10 years ago.
Good luck to him everyone deserves a second chance.
Must ask if Stingers going to go to Belgium to interview him

But how much of the disappointing results do you attribute to puel and how much to the lack of squad depth he’s been given?
His team selection against Fleetwood was justified given today’s performance but he can’t be held accountable for Matty James and Andy Kings performances among many others on the pitch who should have done much better.

Zzzzzzzzzz even nev won’t fall for that blatant wum
Then again......
BS - I don’t particularly blame Puel for that run. More that we shouldn’t think his start has been perfect. It has been impressive as a whole though.
Nev, for someone who seems to get quite get up about racism, you sure do bring nationality in to debates a lot unnecessarily! What’s Appleton’s nationality got to do with anything? I just posed the question as you seem to think that anything related to Shakespeare is tainted.
I personally think Appleton should take a lot of credit for the helping the players transition. Just like Shakespeare should under Ranieri. Doesn’t mean I’m taking away from the managers at all, just that it’s a team that manage and coach as well as play.
How do work that out about appletons role he had only been at the club during the summer its hardly the seven years Shakey had. You always seem to want to take credit away from the man doing the job.
Do I Nev? I thought I’d been quite complimentary on this thread!
I like to look at the complete picture, that’s all.
BS - I can't find your rating here - it would be good to hear where you rank him so far?
Lots of interesting points, I'm not going to argue with anything in the 7-8 range but 9 is too high when he's blown our chance (understandably so) of getting to Wembley in the Carabao Cup. 6 is too low given the success we've had in the League.
I'm not so fussed about Fleetwood, that does back up the comments about how poor our overall recruitment has been recently. It was also due to a large degree about how well Fleetwood played and the state of their pitch. I'm hoping for a better performance tomorrow night but we will most likely have the second string out again so don't be surprised if there's a shock.
