Most clubs haven't for two decades.

They have this person called a Director of Football.

The fecked up thing about this is that Dortmund are now more likely to sell PEA to a club that is ready to include a player as part of the exchange.

It wont be the first time Chelsea have waited in the flanks, only to gazump a player at the 11th hour.

When you look at it on paper then it makes no sense because Michy going to Dortmund paves way for Auba to Arsenal but lets be real.. Auba is going to Arsenal anyway so a loan move to a club like Dortmund and getting regular game could benefit us just as much as Dortmund.

Was thinking more along the lines that Chelsea could be allowing a rival to effectively use us, with absolutely no incentive for ourselves.

I’d like to see Michy with a run in the team. I don’t know and I’m not saying he’s the answer. But we’ll never know for sure unless we give him a run.

They do indeed, still does not mean they don't let their manager choose his own signings because unlike you believe most clubs do

I agree with Noble.

I get why Conte and our fans feel that Michy’s movement is not what it should be, but I genuinely think some of that movement, would come with developing an understanding with his supporting players and that can only come from regular game time.

Can't stand Giroud. Whatever his merits - and those are few - he just seems exclusively devoted to his own image, forever posing on-field with his chiselled profile, smart haircut, etc.

Agree Flash. If given a proper run in the side then Batshuayi will be a good striker for us and undoubtedly score goals. Fans want to nitpick at certain things but of course if he's not playing regularly then elements of his game are going to look off.

Practice makes perfect after all. He needs gametime and a run in the side, simple as that. If we let him go then more fool us as he'll bang in the goals wherever he goes, as long as he actually plays enough.

You could stop stockpiling players and give the player a run in your own team?

From what I have seen he looks to have potential, Morata has been pants and you're looking at the likes of Crouch and Carroll instead?

Crazy

Really?

Most Champions League clubs have a coach and a director of football.

Few have managers

Michy is terrble end of stroy

however morata isnt looking up to much, after a positive start and seems mentally weak. which is cryptonite to a striker,

we do seem like an absolute charity case to clubs in and around us

i thnk the club hasnt got a clue anymore, sad times

Giroud is fecking awful but so is barkley drinkwater bakayoko so im not suprised

Giroud is not bad and Bats does score goals.Morata is not a bad player. He is just suffering from physical nature of English football and he is also suffering due to a lack of confidence. We can all see Morata's ability and I trust him completely.

The discussion isnt about what clubs name the man in charge.

Name clubs in the Prem who don't let the managers/head coach/whatever you want to call the man in charge of the first team.

I'll go
Watford
Chelsea.

Yup that's it

Even we wouldn't let Bats go out on loan without securing a replacement so either a deal for a replacement is close and will be confirmed if Bats to BVB is going ahead or Bats will stay.

As for PEA, definitely a good finisher but not what we need at present. He'd cost a lot in terms of transfer fee, signing on fee and wages. We are saving that cash for summer transfers when (a) we know whether Antonio is still in charge and (b) best time to look for new players. January never good.

I don't see us signing Giroud unless it is on loan which Arsenal have said a definite no to. We will not be used to help them pay for PEA. Giroud is 31 and as such will be subject to the same rules that have prevented us signing Dzeko, i.e. max 18 month contract.
