As a united fan i feel i ought to point out that united are far from "resurgent".
third best squad in the league is pretty average by their standards
yet not long ago united's starting XI only had one serious rival - and that was the second XI
arsenals problem are different to united's
arsenal only LOOK like a big club because of Mr Wenger's unique ability to get great team work out of journeymen joes.
before he arrived arsenal were a pretty ordinary club with a dreadful european record.

Another parallel:
Last year, United sign up class player out of contract for a fee-free transfer.
This year, Arsenal let a class player run out his contract for a fee-free transfer, getting an Albanian in return.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Last year United signed a player they let go on a free for £100m. I doubt we'll see that from Arsenal. Good point.

Almost! We actually received about 800,000 when he left, so not "on a free". Still, an 88,000,000 pound loss... Not even Wenger is that daft.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Think we also received around £1.5m back from Juve, as he trained at United from 16-19 years old. So he was even more of a bargain than people think.

If you win the Europa it’ll be a very satisfactory season indeed, regardless of the league. Jose wrote top four off pretty early last year to concentrate on Europe, wonder if Wenger will too.
No reason you can’t win the League Cup, you’re good at cup finals.
League cup + Europa league is a great season in anyone's book. 2 trophies out of 4 available would be excellent.
The issue is that in the real test of who the best team is, the league, shows us as the worst of the second tier of teams this year. The Manchester clubs are far ahead. Then Pool, Tottenham & Chelsea are in our bracket ahead of us IMO also. We've not had a sniff of a title fight in more than 10 years and there are no signs of that changing. Our board & manager won't push to get us there.
We've become a cup team, which is better than things were a few seasons ago when we hadn't won anything in years. But Arsenal should be in amongst the league title picture for our resources & supporter numbers.
We're being drained by owners who don't care about footie or glory, and are the other side of the coin of having foreign billionaire owners compared to City and Chelsea.
They get given massive resources to compete, whereas we get ours sucked away. They're manufactured into title contenders, we're hobbled and relegated to being an after thought.
Wenger's poor recruitment hasn't helped sort out our problems either. You don't need £500m to compete & your red nosed git of a former boss would have Arsenal competing on our current spend through getting the right men in our dressing room, not the marquee signings Mourinho & Pep have relied on IMO.
To sum it up, being a good cup team & winning trophies is better than not being, but we know what Arsenal could (would?) be doing if it wasn't for the shackles on us. We want a new board, new manager and a new era for our club, because we've been treading water and just barely keeping up for too long.

You’re no worse off than we were last year.
Do you really think you’ll start competing for the league and CL by getting rid of Wenger and buying a few more players? Football’s cyclical, you’re just in a bit of a slump right now.
Just adjust your expectations and enjoy going to the football without thinking you should be winning every game. No ones entitled to that.

It's not a slump, that's showing terrible ignorance.
We are being eaten from the inside out by our board and led by a man too close to the issue to identify the problem/make real change. Arsene has to go for Arsenal to progress and the board have to go for us to achieve our true potential, which is a league title and the champions league.

We've got no chance in the Cup final or the Europa league so there are no Parallels

Of course you do.
