Take anything we can get for him in the summer.

He must have stretched right doing the warm up with the team

His body is broken, not sure you can blame him for not stretching properly

Agreed, he was scintillating when part of the SAS partnership those years ago but times change, players move on..

I really feel for him, he comes across as a very sound fella and never complains pubkucallt, he was also unreal when fully fit.

It infuriates me, the guy has so much talent but he just doesn’t seem interested in football anymore. Seems like social media, music and even American football has taken over his life.

The only time his ability really came to the fore was in the company of Suarez who did all his spade work. It’s a damn shame he couldn’t have been a stand alone forward. As others have said the desire to succeed was not strong enough.

Absolute b@llocks people questioning his desire, he can't help being so injury prone. I suppose Wilshere and Diaby had no desire too

In fact I wouldn't mind it with Wilshere because he's been caught smoking, drinking and hiding from cops behind bins because he's been in a tear up at 4am.

Sturridge? No. Carragher said his desire is spot on only last summer.

The thing with Sturridge is that he would rarely push himself to play if not 100% fit. All players pick up niggles

Gerrard said it himself.

Wouldn't mind seeing a link to that Neo. I genuinely can't find one.

Well at least this latest injury is not costing us.

Don't quite say that does it

I coached at the Dome when he was a young lad, he had incredible skill, but he was bonkers, and football was nowhere near the most important thing in his life. That would be Jesus, and I don't mean Gabriel.

I think the fact our captain had to beg him to play on our biggest game of the season despite the medical team giving him the go ahead says it all really.

I didn't really read your link as a lack of desire though. It's highly likely it's a mental thing where he feels if he plays with a niggle, he'll just make it worse. In his mind he was probably thinking it'd be better to play it safe and miss the United game than miss 2 months with an injury.

"Come on! You're our main man, just go for it!".

Now equates to begging and Sturridge rarely pushing himself to play. Gotcha.

Could be that he's pushed himself all week to be fit for a big game against his former club and has tweaked a hamstring on a cold night after an early sprint. Sounds bonkers though when I put it like that.

He needs to retire.
He's basically stealing a living, and a very well paid one at that.

And I’m going to trust the opinion of our greatest player who trained with him every day over yours thanks.
