He's 28 but his career in the top flight is effectively over. Probably should get on the phone to Beckham and see if he can get a gig at Miami.

He's 28.

I felt really bad for him last night as you could tell he was gutted.

Interesting route into footy though. Trained alone with his uncle for over a year at 14 for example. Instinctive finisher and beautiful striker of the ball.

The missus said to me last night watching the game "he should have went to Spain, the warm weather would help his injuries".

Really?

Off to a retirement league for him.

Fantastic talent, didn't get even half of it out though

Maybe. Sprinting at 0°c ain't great for muscles.

Probably one of the most talented english striker over the past decade. No one could make runs in behind the defence like he used to. Always thought he'd have been perfect to play alongside Ozil.
Shame about the injury.

Gets increasingly harder to sympathize with Sturridge. Like greattimeswinit4imes said, there's too many questions surrounding his attitude with injuries (no smoke without fire). When someone as transparent as Klopp publicly outs him for it I'm inclined to agree with him.

Whether he could do more about his fitness or not, it's getting to the point where he's conning a living now.

TP

I read somewhere that Robben's injuries became less frequent when he changed his diet and personal lifestyle.

Wonder how true that is?

I'm sure part of his problem is the mental aspect and him not trusting his body but I really don't get the idea that he's just not trying/not caring. If he didn't care he would have stayed at Liverpool and sat on the bench for the rest of the season, not gone on loan to play first team football.

Sturridge has claimed his uncles and dad all had muscles injuries. One of his uncle was a successful footballer. I think these seniors are partly to blame. He's probably had it drilled from an early age that he will get injuries. If you go looking for injuries then you will find them.

world cup year.

That then shows he cares though no? Wanting to play in the world cup doesn't strike me as something a guy who's happy to just collect his money would do.

Has he ever been injured in a match resulting from a bad challenge?

Glaring mental weaknesses compounded by genuine injuries.
