Wenger won't have a clue how to beat City he'll play the same way as always and try to outscore them and get mauled.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
That's not really true though is it? He has done the exact opposite of that against City in the past and got results.

I can see us going with Elneny and Xhaka on Sunday, so it depends how honest Mr Wenger is being about Ramseys chances of being fit. If he is available then both Wilshere and Ramsey start for me - so no Welbeck or Iwobi.

I would say, also, that Welbeck needs time on the pitch. If he is in the plans to start on Sunday then I think 60 minutes Thursday would be advantageous rather than a problem tbh.

Just hope the players who have not been used haven't had rust set in!

Yeah agree about Welbeck, I reckon he’ll start vs city as we’ll need him tracking Walker’s forays & as you say, he needs minutes.

I like Elneny, our version of Ray ‘the crab’ Wilkins it we look a lot more defensively assured when he sits & does the basic stuff. Xhaka just isn’t up to that - I think Arsène wanted him to be our QB to kind of replace some of what Santi gave us - I don’t think he has ever been thought of as our 1st choice DM as many believe.

On Sunday I’d go with Elneny sitting, jack the b2b/pressuring Silva/KDB & Ozil the #10 - I wouldn’t play both Jack & Ramsey.

So who's your front 3 with this midfield; Welbeck, Aubameyang and Iwobi? Or are you not looking to put Jack and Ramsey in midfield and would therefore play Ramsey out on the right?

Welbeck and Iwobi will likely feature on Thursday and it might be that the better player on the day gets the nod. Like you, I'd go with Welbeck as he is usually up for the big games and happy to run around and do a lot of defending from the front. Also gives us an option to go long from outset if we need to.

Think it's a decent time to play City, tbh. Their pride has just taken a knock and they'll be a bit more anxious than they would have been. The longer we can keep it goalless the better chance we will have of causing an upset.

Welbeck LW
Auba CF
fck knows - I hate mf’s being played as wingers/inside fwds, he’ll go with Iwobi probably (which contradicts my Europa prediction πŸ˜‚) Maybe Ramsey, he likes one to be attacking the other to be orthodox/safer, so Welbeck does the donkey work, Ramsey to get forward imo, which will do wonders for Welbeck’s confidence πŸ˜•πŸ˜‚

To touch on that, we have no natural RW/IRF now, it could be a bit of an issue....πŸ™„πŸ˜‚

His attitude stinks but Mahrez in the summer?
