I think you have a very good chance to be honest. It will depend on keeping your attackers fit and not tiring them out. Same for Spurs.
As for Poch, there should be no doubt about the quality of this guy. What he's done at Southampton and Spurs is just magnificent.

We get somethign similar Spurtle with Klopp, and essentially I feel the exact same.
If we won no trophies this year I still want him as manager, we likely won't (well Ithink we will win the CL but I'm an eternal optimist) But there will be articles on here saying he's a trophy dodger etc. and should be fired, same will happen with Poch.
When in reality both sides are much improved under the managers and vast majority of fans are happy.

Quite similar paths for the 2 clubs under these managers so far, although I would say Poch has had us looking more solid overall than Klopp has you.

What was the last trophy Liverpool won?
Not on the wind up here, genuinely asking. I'm thinking the FA cup in 2006 but surely it can't have been that long?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
League cup a few years later, nigh on a decade now without one, we've lost 3 finals, I'm sure, FA Cup to Chelsea, LC to City and europa final.

With the big win in Porto we're pretty much in the QF now and it must have given the squad a bog confidence boost.
While we can score goals against anyone I'd say, and we tend to score 2 golas in quick sucession quite often we're still very capeable of conceding 2 or 3 in minutes and could have a dreadful 15 mins v a top side and the tie could be over, that's the main worry for me.

Yeah I'd agree, I think you have a stronger midfiled for sure that helps your already excellent defence.
I'd say we're more balanced in attack in terms of us being a front 3 who all score and assist while Spurs are more reliant on Kane as the attacking focal point.
I'd love Dembele at Liverpool he is top notch for me.

Our defence was rubbish before Poch came in. In fact in his first season it was one of the worst in the league. Poch has improved the defence a lot in that time.
Spurs are a great defensive unit, they play a high line, but your CB's play in such a way that they're always ready to either step back if needed, or more importantly nick in ahead of the attacker to take the ball, Poch as them lined up, and standing in such a way that they often anticipate the pass and intercept it before it becomes any sort of danger.
Someone did a bit on this recently on Sky or BT, was really insightful.

A bit like with Liverpool....Its the DM position that's key ! Esp Dier as he has the ability to let Spurs shift from a Back 4 to a 3 without the need for substitutions. Great bit of Management by Poch.. Signing a young, smart, English kid for nothing with good understanding of team play & tactics that the likes of Jose/ Pep would never bother to scout..... why bother when you can just offer 60mln for them once they've proved they can cut it
Likes of sandy love saying how good Spurs are so if they don't win anything again this season, are Spurs underachieving.

I read a good article last season about how Spurs had gone from conceding over 50 goals to having the meanest defence in the league two seasons running. Obviously recruitment helps, so getting Toby in. But the defensive coaching ie emphasis on winning the ball high up the pitch, tackling in ways that allow you to be first back to your feet to recover/retain the ball, persistently committing fouls high up the pitch when the opposition have the ball (unlikely to result in cards but breaks up play so you can regroup), and having a DM that drops into a back 3 when fullbacks push on meaning defensive shape/numbers are never lost.
Poch was a defender himself and that has been reflected in the fact we have become an immeasurably better defensive unit under him, plus more physically imposing and dare I say it - dirtier.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I love the fact Spurs are getting tagged for being a bit nasty.... Don't care that everyone hates Dele and the fact that Dembele, Dier & Wanyama have no problem kicking someone up in the air for no apparent reason is great. Despite the good guy rep, Kane is no shrinking violet.... He gave United's & Arsenals CBs a good going over...... Similarities to Shearer are pretty accurate in that sense..... All Makes a nice change !

The only question that really matters is are Spurs fans happy with Poch so far and where he has them going?
Even as a red I can say yes, yes they are.
Trophies are great, everyone wants to win them, however they are not everything in football.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
100% Agree. Id rather watch Spurs week in, week out under Poch playing the type of football we do, trying to make smart signings, developing & improving young players, unearthing stars of the future & growing the club to be the best it can be without the need the need for Oil money or having to to bent over by the likes an Ozil, Pogba, Sanchez (& their 5cumb@g agents) Or having to watch turgid Jose Hoofball & the pathetic excuses that follow. If that comes with a trophy then great, if not... I'll live.. Its only a game. I'm happy when we win & pi55ed when we lose. I think its an exciting time to be a Spurs fan & I don't need "purchased" trophies to justify it
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Hard to argue with that, and I think you boys and girls are right to be enjoying your footballing lives
Kane bullies defences nowadays, he is a lot stronger this season.
We have a great mix of players in our squad. Such a great balance, especially now with the pace & trickery of Moura. We have plenty who are prepared to stick up for themselves and their mates, no one bullies us any more....more like the opposite. Love it !
There was this big debate last season out of what season was better out of Spurs and United's, and while trophies are a very important part of it if i was offered either season this coming August i'd choose Tottenham's (of last season).
Maybe i would answer differently if we was on a trophy drought but i don't think any knockout cup (apart from the CL) would be worth all the ruined weekends and leaving the stadium with a poor state of mind but maybe that's just me.
lol, finishing 2nd is a season Man Utd fans want to blank out and never think of it again like 09/10 and 11/12 all a close 2nd that we had in our hands until we bottled it or a distant 2nd Spurs were last season and never close to winning the league.
I rather we finish 17th and win Europa League and League cup than finishing 2nd and winning nothing.
