Because there is a feeling that, because they are paid so much, footballers won't react to being hit, spat at and abused.

That guy who provoked Aguero is such a woose. Why the fack did he back away when Aguero came at him? Either punch him back or don't do anything in the first place.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Typical tiny-tadgered football "hooligan" when facing a bloke that works out every day, and could probably knock seven shades of sheight out of him.
If you want to wind up a macho Latin man then talk about s@cking d”ck. No wonder Aguero went for the little thug.
I don’t care for Utd but loved Cantona booting a similar thug.
Both of those guys proving a valuable public service IMO. Hope Aguero takes the little twot to court.
He was about 4” taller than Aguero as well.

Even Barry Bennell was more subtle than that.
That Kant better watch out Aguero might get his Father in law too shoot him with a air rifle

Good heavens, mate
Slightly (well quite a lot) off topic but who was that British striker from the 80's and 90's who was about 6 feet 4 and scarier than a cross dressing Donald Trump? May have played for Newcastle.
Nevermind, after a bit of searching it was Mick Harford. You can all rest easy.
I wonder if he'll get banned like our players would if they did it?

Now run along and shine that u-bend, be a good lad.
Again spoken like one of your own fans that abused Aguero. Shiiit always float, you can't hide.
Despicable fans
the guy is getting abuse and rightfully so, what he did to Aguero is bang out of order.
but come on now guys, lets not play the holier than thou card.
weve got city fans calling him all the names under the sun, yet their own fans were ripping up hoardings, causing criminal damage and throwing things that were hitting the stewards and police.... another form of assault... not much better really are they.

I have said as much in another thread.
They should not have done that and anyone found guilty is deserving of a ban.
As should the Wigan fans that came onto the pitch throwing things and spitting at Aguero and verbally abusing him.

its a shame that people cant go to a game and just enjoy it or accept that you cant win them all, they have to cause trouble, especially given the amount of kids that go.

Football for whatever reason is more tribalistic than any other sport.
It does bring out the worst in some people but given how many people watch football at the grounds every week you can’t tar all fans with that brush.
