Granted if Celtic then score they become favourites again but at 1-1 any advantage from the first leg disappears.

No it doesn't. Zenit's failure to score an away goal hangs over them until the final whistle. Unless of course they blow us away which is entirely possible.

Put it this way, if we are 30 minutes in and Zenit are 1-0 up with the rest of the tie still to go and being played in Russia who would you make favourites?

it would be 50/50

1 goal for us would swing it massively back into our favour

as they'd need to chase 2 goals

I think only Smid understands it.

our advantage from the first leg would only be lost if we went 3-0 down

Our approach doesn`t have to change, whether it is 0-0, 1-0, or 2-0. We still only need one goal. That will be in the minds of the Zenit team and management. If we score, it changes for them dramatically.

I remember when you used to want the 2nd leg at home

now I'd say you want the first leg at home the way most teams set up in Europe

It's mental to suggest if Zenit score then the advantage from the first leg disappears

I think Smids meaning psychologically

Celtic away from home in Europe aren't the strongest minded if we go 1 down early on I wouldn't be surprised if they thought the tie was gone

I'll not settle down tonight until we go 3-0 up on aggregate with 1 minute 90 seconds left of normal time.

, albeit a goal for Celtic at that stage would carry more weight.

Yeah exactly, which means there is still an advantage from the first leg

Go to the live thread tonight and see how calm and serene the hoops on here are if Zenit score first relatively early. I'm almost certain they wont be saying "Yaaassss advantage us"
----------------------------------------------------------------------

Na, more like, we still only need one.
We still, still only need one
Aw naw, we need 2
How long `til half-time?

Just read this article

Wow what an utterly guff article

I don't even know where to start

Bain
Ralston Ajer Hendry KT
Brown Nitcham
Roberts Rogic Forrest
Griffith's

Bain? based on what? not being first choice keeper at the club we got him from?
Ajer Hendry and KT - yes potentially
Ralston - not seen anywhere near enough to say this
Roberts is on loan

DeVries is nervous as hell so he's out. Lustig, past it. Boyata, Sumonovich, see ya. Kouassie, not ready. Sinclair, please no! Dembele/Eduoard, useless.

deVries has played very well since returning to the side. Only the crowd get nervous
Lustig - has been playing injured but isn't Lustig from his prime
Only a few months ago everyone was raving about Boyata and Simunovic. I'm not a fan of Boyata
Dembele useless? Why? Because he was injured then is needing game time to get back to form? We have seen him do it recently, especially in the Hearts game and in the Zenit game I thought he was excellent too

That team would be hard to beat.

Whatever

Don't get me wrong, I'll be amazed if we are still in the tie after 8 minutes tonight.

Only an idiot would really try to make a prediction on this game because none of us have any idea what Zenit are actually like. I doubt any of us have seen anything of them apart from last weeks game.

I'll go for 3-0 Zenit tonight though.
