Shouldn't Burnley have players involved? Tarwkoski or whatever his name is.

Made up for Cook. Like Wiltshire too. Hart is there for his experience. He’s a decent keeper on his day.

Lewis Cook in the England team.

I remember some one here saying he wasn't good enough for us anyway when he left!
----------------------------------------------------------------------

From that, one can conclude that being good enough for England does not necessarily make one good enough for Leeds United!

The Burnley lad did get picked

Hart makes some good saves but he always has a howler bubbling under just waiting to surface. An accident prone goalkeeper is the last thing a defence want behind them as we can testify!

Similar to Rob Green WC 2010?

I think for goalkeepers percentages are the best measure. Being solid, making good decisions most of the time is probably better than making the occasional brilliant save but then letting the ball through your legs or palming a soft shot to the feet of an incoming attacker. Green did make the occasional hash of things before and even when with us but I would still have him back in a heartbeat

People complain whatever the squad is.

Hart has been terrible last 2 years but it's a tough call to choose a new number 1 on the eve on a tournament when the players competing play for Burnley, Stoke and Everton. Completely different experience and pressure for them. Hart shouldn't start but I don't envy Southgate making that call.

Wilshire is quality, don't know how anyone can complain at that. He's fit and playing well.

Your issue here seema less with Southgate and more with the players at his disposal.

Henderson is far from great but is a decent squad option. Wilshere also is arguably never to reach his one time levels but is a decent option. Crazy to suggest neither should be in the squad.

The inclusion of Cook and Livermore is slightly more desperate.

Matty summed the inclusion of Hart perfectly well. Again he seems to have lost a lot of his quality. Imagine if we lost Butland/Pickford in the world cup. Hart at least has experience and will be vital around the squad.

Welbeck I felt was an odd selection but again, who else is there? Without Kane you are looking at Vardy ans Rashford who I don't think have a competion goal between them.

Its a sad state of affairs. We have some quality young players but its maybe a competition too soon for many. Others such as Winks and RLC are injured or any just coming back from injury.

The pool is bare.

Mind you, most of the established England keepers have made howlers that have proved disastrous:
• Shilton's soft goal against Poland that effectively put us out of the 74 World Cup
• David James' howler against France that saw us lose the opener of '04 Euros
• Peter Bonetti in '70 World cup semis against West Germany. Nuff said...
• Seaman's gormless gaff against Brazil in 2002
• Paul Robinson blaming a bobble for missing Gary Neville's innocuous backpass vs Croatia in '06 when England fail to make the Euros
There's plenty more where that came from and perhaps that sums up our inability to play to England potential on the big stage. No character, no balls. Or am I just talking about the current Leeds squad?

Nigel Martyn, Lorralorimer?

Did he have any gaffes?

He did for England. Was it Romania in the Euros?

Seaman was far from great.

Green also messed up against the US.

Another way of putting this is:

If Joe Fooking Hart is considered worthy of being
on the plane to Russia, it just illustrates that we have
no fooking chance of advancing to the knockout.

Northern Ireland have the next Goalkeeping superstar. You may heard of him.
Goes by the name of Bailey Peacock-Farrell

Earl, we should try get him!

Don't know what he sees in Livermore. Surely there are better players in the Championship than him!

Plenty of English goalkeepers around atm. That's the weird thing. If he wanted one with experience why not pick Foster. Granted, he hasn't had a great season, but he's at least starting games.

Joe Hart was successfully passed the water carrying test for 6 yards without spilling hence his inclusion in the squad..
