What is your opinion of Marinakis’ statement, Will?

Pretty standard for someone accused of a crime.

“The recent judicial action is a deliberate attempt at character assassination. The allegations are fabricated and without any foundation in law or fact. It is a deliberate plot that has long been in the making and as such it is not only offensive, but quite simply criminal."

Pretty standard?????????

I wish I got this much attention!

If it's true, it's true. If it's false, it's false. Not worried in the slightest re the future of the club.

It will take years to resolve and essentially it's a convicted man trying to get a lighter sentence.

IF he is responsible then he deserves everything he gets, but, I just don't see it. Plus, we're a far better option for a new owner than six months ago. So, if in say 2-3 years he is found guilty then I'm sure our promotion and subsequent relegation will see us as a half decent option for another billionaire.

Wow, the International break is boring!

Marinakis isn't sole owner, he bought the club as a partnership. Greek football seems to be highly politicised, it sounds like a stitch up to me but we shall have to wait and see.

He hasn't been charged with anything as far as I can see, merely named in an investigation. If he had run onto the pitch with a holstered pistol I would be concerned, but he didn't that was someone else, has that individual been arrested yet?

This is a non story, unlike snowgate which was instigated directly by DCFC! as all you sheep know!

It will have no effect on Forest, certainly in the short term.

Whereas you lot are going to be called snowflakes from now on.

Every time you suffer a few injuries Mel will be on the phone looking to import some snow, or perhaps he's going to buy a ice making machine for the terraces?

Facts

Marinakis is 80% owner of Forest.
Marinakis was charged with match fixing but acquitted.
Marinakis has been charged with drug smuggling.
Marinakis was a suspect in blowing up a bakery.

Now what would Forest fans be thinking if he were owner of any other club but Forest?

Would they think it's all a stitch up or would they be thinking is this a fit and proper person to own a football club.

If you look back at the Leeds board, their supporters defended the Italian guy when he was first appointed. Ask them now whether they would defend him.

If you look back at your own board didn't you all rush to defend Fawaz when he bought the club.

I know you sheep are used to facing backwards, but thinking it as well?

Innocent until proven guilty, unless we're all on holiday in Mexico?

He looks dodgy, associates with criminals but so do most billionaires. It gives them protection and Street credit. Bigger the man, bigger than ego! And he is a larg fella!!

posted on 27/3/18

Rich people generally associate with criminals for the street cred it gives them? Righto. I bet Marinakis is loving the street cred he’s got right now.

You have to admire the loyalty of Forest fans on here. They stuck behind Billy, that fantastic man, we were just jealous and wanted him back at Derby. How right they were about that one. They stuck behind Fawaz who was not at all a clueless feckwit but a lifelong Forest fan who would get them their third star. How right they were about that one. And now they stick behind Marinakis. Being charged with heroin smuggling, match fixing and money laundering is actually a GOOD thing. It means he’s just oozing with street cred and of course it won’t affect Forest if it’s owner is in Greece with a travel ban fighting against charges that would see him jailed for decades if convicted and his assets including Forest seized.

Yep, it’s all good. Doesn’t compare at all to the scandal of the EFL saying Derby took the correct decision to postpone a game.

Absolutely spot on Vidal

I thought you might struggle with that. Not surprising really....

Outside of your Forest obsessed world there is another reality.

I guess the Mafia in the 30's, Krays in the 60's, Rolling Stones in the 70's with the Hells Angels.

Yeah, rich people hate criminals. All their security are just petty criminals, not ex-gangsters, guns for hire etc...

Just hire the security bloke from Tesco, he's a bit handy!

I know your trying to prove a point, but a thing called history gets in the way.

You get in with the wrong crowd and before you know it, your their by association.

I did say that if he's guilty, then fair game, but you forgot that part. Conveniently.

I know our potential demise gets you all excited, but in reality none of it will stick. He's got way too much money, the law in Greece is hardly pedestal worthy and it's all by someone banged up. Is that right? If he's guilty, of course not!

But, whilst most Forest fans cast an occasional glance, I'm sure you will keep the boards updated. And people, say you're obsessed. Never!

By the way....I hear our cleaning lady stole a biscuit yesterday, you should start an article.

Flaky club!

I hope the Bluebirds nail em in the rearranged fixture.

No arguing with that! Ever thought of becoming a barrister?

I wonder if the League will investigate Derby over the inflated attendances admission. Possibly seen as an attempt to increase advertising revenue from sponsors, etc. Not sure that is entirely legit?

Can I just point out that I consider that ALL top level professional sport is corrupt. Cycling, swimming, athletics, Cricket, etc, etc.

Professional football is run by FIFA so obviously . . .

It is something we have to accept as sport lovers. Most of you out there are much more savvy than me of course, so it is possible that you know of a sport that is whiter than white. If so I'd like to hear of it.

We can’t accept it Redfor. It exists but it must be fought against, otherwise sport is meaningless.

Golf is almost whiter than white. There a a few instances of cheating but these are very rare. Generally it is a game of honour.

I'm not sure how many senses you have left...but clearly your ears and eyes have left the building.

You've probably never read an autobiography, or understood what all the words mean.

Form a bigger picture, outside of East Midlsnds News perhaps? Biting the television to pick up the vibrations, probably the same technique you use on the wife...someone no doubt helps you with your musings.

Randall's statement is probably lost on you also.

View...I'd love to add more substance, but their is only so much time in the day. Plus, the Lost Boy's clearly far too giddy. He laughs at everything he doesn't understand.

He reminds me of Nakata, but at least he could talk to cats.
