Never played a god of war because I missed the first one, One of my gaming regrets
Never played a God of War game , but based on this video I think I will buying this .
Far Cry 5 release slipped under my radar. Its getting mixed reviews surprisingly. Anybody played it?
yeah I got it, its ok, lacking the in the story and character dept that the previous 2 nailed. Gun play is cool, weapons are great. Its good without being amazing. Lots to do (too many bad guys to deal with) literally run into guys every 30 secs !
That's a disappointment for me, I like having a bit of time in Farcry, enjoyed 4 for that reason.

If you thought Far Cry 3 was good, then you will be disappointed by this rehash.
Its just a money grabber, nothing more.

FC3 was immense. Enjoyed 4, and never bothered with Primal.
If you enjoyed number 4 you probably will like 5 as well.
I didn't actually play 4, I just remember playing 3 and loving it from start to finish and then played Blood Dragon which was also fun.
I then played 5 for a good few hours and it just didn't grab me like 3 did. Got bored of it fairly quickly.
No new ideas, graphics weren't even that good, story was meh.
Never played God of War. Can you play as ranged too? Or is it only melee?
In the old games you had ranged attack with swinging blades, they are not in this game.
But you can throw the axe and have it return like Thor's hammer, there are other moves to take out multiple enemies etc, so not all hand to hand.
Wasn't a big fan of the original God of war games. The story seemed good but it was just a button bashing mess
Maybe you will like this one Tu as im getting a darksouls lite feeling from the game play vids and the producer even said its a big influence

In the old games you had ranged attack with swinging blades, they are not in this game.
But you can throw the axe and have it return like Thor's hammer, there are other moves to take out multiple enemies etc, so not all hand to hand.

Looks very slick and polished, but still a bit of a button basher hack and slash type so not my cup of tea.
I think that was true of past God of War games, but this new direction means it will be a very different beast.
The reviews seem to confirm that.
Meh still not buying it. I despise hack and slash. Hopefully a new Horizon Zero Dawn is in the cards soon.
The game has to appeal, it is the story i'm interested in most, but it won't be for everyone.
the story needs to be very strong to be fair, as it seems to be a bit generic IMO. I also hate quick time events and i think they will be in this quite a lot. Let me do the cool stuff not the damn computer !!
Sorry quick time events really do my head in, they managed to make games before without them in the past, now the kids just want cinematics.... pfffft !! but that is a rant for another time !!
