When we talk about trophies in the last, we’re not talking 1963 FFS. We won the title two years ago. It’s a major trophy in the recent PL era. You have won fack all for 25 years except for a league cup and we have 3 of those ourselves.
I’m not comparing the history of spurs to the history of Leicester - Spurs are a bigger club, but such is the sorry state of the Spurs trophy cabinet, you have absolutely nothing to show for the football you have played recently.
The last time you won a title, the Beatles were just getting popular. It’s absolutely embarrassing considering the size of Spurs

Tbf the Spurs fans are an absolute mess since they were deservedly beaten yesterday
You'd think the ultimate bottlers would have just taken it on the chin considering the experience they have in their club of failing on their big occasions

Absolutely fine, mid table mediocrity is pretty good when you have a premier league trophy in your cabinet. Trophies is what it’s all about at the end of the day.......
----------------------------------------------------------------------
He’s got you there. Imagine being a Spurs fan and trying to dig out Leicester City.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
It’s easy.
One anomaly, then back where they belong.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
What you mean is, when they had a rare chance at a title they didn’t bottle it.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This.
We took our chance when it mattered. When have Spurs ever done that??

Too soon?
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No, not like we did. Not unless you’re including yourselves, Liverpool, Chelsea and Arsenal in that bottle job, because nobody has contested the title since November.

I thought the Premier League trophy was in the Man City Cabinet. You may as well say well Spurs have got two league trophies in the cabinet, three European trophies, eight FA Cups, and Four League Cups if you are going to harp on about the past.
You can hardly have a pop at Spurs when the pee all over your club for trophies won in the past.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Harp on about the past? They won it just 2 seasons ago.

One trophy you are still desperate to win
Agree with all this, Don. As I said in the other thread we should aim to bring in some winners into the club, of genuine quality. Whether that's a Bale or someone else. There aren't as many excuses not to do this with the increased revenue. Looking at unknown wingers with potential from mid-table French sides, or top scorers from the Dutch league isn't going to stick anymore.
By all means look to signings with potential, but bring them in with players who are the finished article if you can.

We blew our chance the season Leicester won the league. We’ll never get another chance like that again

Spurs have won twice as many Titles as Leicester. Now put that in your pipe and just go feck off and support your club, that nobody gives two hoots about.

I said that in 1959 when Burnley won the league, after Spurs had led practically all season, and Spurs went and won it the following year.
"Honestly last night was the last straw for me. I was at Wembley and I think that's the last I'm going to invest my hard earned money for a while. Why bother if all Spurs do is make me miserable when I go to these sort of games? "
**********************
Don, I'm with you on this. I feel the same way. And I'm tired of feeling the same way!
But I'll tell you one thing .........
you'll be back next season spending your hard earned money because .......
you're a true Spurs supporter. Yes, a real mug!
And "hope springs eternal".
In the old days Spurs did used to win things, like the 1950/51 team.
Lets hope the club gets sold to a Russian oligarch, or a Chinese billionaire!
Spurs were always big outsiders in those 2 title races. You always felt Leicester City and Chelsea were going to win it easily. Those title races felt similar to Man City this season in a way as you knew unless Chelsea and Leicester City bottle it they would win the league.
