Great thread

Calm down Wolfie, the kid came to us from playing in the 3rd tier of Spanish football if I remember correctly. I say let have a debate on the lad once he’s had time to settle and gone through a pre-season as he won’t be playing catch up in terms of fitness.

If that’s OK with you, of course ?

He will be loaned next season 100%, maybe back to Spain, as I have said many times he was a speculative purchase that fell into our lap so we took it given the potential up side.

He will not feature for us in the prem next season and it is very unlikely he will ever feature for us but that is the way with a majority of young players.

You may remember the start of the season when that Samuel fella scored in a friendly and you and others were positive he would have an impact on the season.......he was never seen again as I told you he wouldn't be, managers are very cautious blooding youngsters and it becomes even harder once in the results now premier league

I saw his sub appearance when he came on against Swansea just after he signed. Looked a bit rusty then to be fair, touch wasn't great, had a chance or two which he didnt take.Hes bloody big though.

Suspect he's needed a few months fitness work and a pre season to get him in to the kind of nick he needs to be in for Championship football, which is where I suspect he may be spending the first half of next season on loan.

He'll probably get a move to Shabab Al-Khadr, based in Bethlehem in Palestinian West Bank Premier League around about Christmas time. He'll be unveiled alongside Frank Incense as part of a double signing, to kick off new chairman David Gold's tenure.

Don't think there is any mystery about Mir. He was used in the squad a few times before we bought in more experience in Afobe. He looked promising to me, but far from ready. I think he only got a couple of chances to play so early because Bonatini was nackered and we had no alternative centre forward. He was bought for the future and time will tell if for him the future will ever arrive. Hopefully he is still around for pre season so we can see a little more of him

see what you did there Tam

So, according to those who've posted so far, he's going out on loan, he was a speculative purchase, he will not feature for us next season, it's very unlikely he'll ever feature for us, he looked promising, he's far from ready and hopefully he's around for pre season. Oh and he's one for the future.

Sorry, not buying it. So why isn't he playing some kind of football for us?

DJ. His first appearance was as a sub (17 mins) against Barnsley where he came on for Bonatini. His second was as a sub against Forest (12 mins) and he replaced Neves, Bonatini stayed on the pitch. He played in both the FA Cup games when Nuno put out a virtual second string.

So I still can't understand why he wasn't on the bench more. Something just isn't right Imo.

I see he picked up a medal on Saturday, not sure what the eligibility criteria are but Im sure Jack Price will be a bit miffed if he doesn't get one!

Dont think there is too much of a mystery here Wolfie, he was hardly going to be selected ahead of Costa, Cavaleiro, Bonatini, Afobe, Jota & MGW given their perfomances and form. And given his size and stye of play he would only ever replace Bonatini or Afobe on the bench and both have stayed fit since he arrived, had either picked up a knock Im sure he would have been a sub.

You do it Oldie, you’d certainly make a great host

Reading way too much into it Wolfie, we needed a striker and when he arrived we didn't have a back up so he was that guy, he inevitably dropped down the order when Afobe arrived, the end.

Don't think it's a mystery why he hasn't featured for the first team, however it does seem very strange, if it is correct, that he hasn't played at all for over 2 months, unless he's also injured.

It could just be simple speculation, he has a certain pedigree and for the price was worth a punt.

Might come good, but more likely they figured if he doesn't make the grade he will have a reasonable resale value.

Win win for the club.

They haven't a bloody clue.

Maybe we'll see him on Sunday at some point.

He was part of the presentation and celebrations on the pitch after the Sheff Wed game. The mystery only exists in your befuddled mind

Probably on the pitch because he was given the #9 shirt when he arrived. Maybe in your expert opinion, you could explain to all of us, why he isn't getting any game time at all.
