Hopefully it will be the Joe Manganiello Death Stroke that we've already seen. And yeah he should be more than Batman's match.

I've always liked the idea of Affleck being an older, jaded Batman.

I would be happy if the Pattinson Batman series was set up as a younger Batman, something happens to Robin then the DCEU has an older Affleck who is still impacted by those events.

Or something like that anyway.

The Pattinson Batman will be it's own story completely disconnected from the DCEU.

So on the big screen we'll be getting the Pattinson Batman while on HBO Max we'd be getting a potentially very big budget Batfleck tv series.

Affleck's Batman will presumably feature in any Snyder Justice League sequels as well on the big screen.

Two Batmans at the same time is confusing but as soon as people realise that the Pattinson Batman is an elseworld story just like Joachin Phoenix's Joker is then it shouldn't be too much of a stretch for people.

Affleck to return as Batman:

https://cosmicbook.news/ben-affleck-batman-contract-hbo-max?amp

According to this it's for an HBO Max Batman tv series but presumably for any Justice League sequels as well.

Looks like we're going to see Batfleck square off against Death Stroke after all

It's all claims and rumours. Nothing official.

This has yet to be confirmed or denied.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Not officially but absolutely everything from the casting in the movie, to comments from Hollywood insiders as well as Matt Reeves himself point to it definitely not taking place in the DCEU:

http://epicstream.com/news/BayaniMiguelAcebedo/The-Pattinson-Batman-Trilogy-will-NOT-be-Part-of-the-Main-DCEU-Timeline#:~:text=As%20confirmed%20by%20insider%20Daniel,not%20part%20of%20the%20DCEU.

Save yourself a heap of disappointment and just accept that this Pattinson Batman has absolutely nothing to do with the DCEU.

I really like the way they did him in the Teen Titans Cartoon Network series

Great show and I loved slade in that. Really added a darker element to the show and real stakes.

As a Brit the Mad Mod episode as well is just wonderful

I honestly feel like Joaquin's Joker should be left alone.
Crazy that it might not have any ties to DC but it was never about that in the first place.

If they want a DC universe to work then Joker's past should still be 'unknown'. Allows creative freedom with the character...but this is DC we're talking about so creative is a very loose word.

Having two Batmans running at the same time is absurd in my opinion. Not only are you confusing the general public but you're pitting the two actors and versions against each other and in a society where group warfare is so prevalent, it's a recipe for disaster.

I can already see it now, Affleck's fans end up criticising Pattison's Batman and vice versa until either one of them leaves or the studios cancels one.

In a universe that has just begun to course correct, bringing affleck back as Batman for a prolonged period would be a disaster.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
So you're worried that there's going to be fighting on the streets between Batfleck and Battinson fans ??

Of course there can be two Batmans at the same time. Especially if the tone of both characters is completely different which everything points to being the case.

One would exist in the DCEU the other in a completely unrelated story just like the Joker movie. Not to mention if one is on the big screen while the other is predominantly on HBO Max as a tv series.

I think your average fan has more than enough intelligence to clearly distinguish between the two.

I'm with Guv. I understand different universes and whatnot but different actors playing the same character at the same time is just wrong.

So are you staunchly against Michael Keaton returning as Batman in the DCEU then? If he comes back instead of Affleck then we'll also have two different Batmans. Same problem for you.

If it's done like Into The Spiderverse then fair play. With Flashpoint if they have Keaton passing on the baton then it should be done with Pattinson imo because Affleck was always being touted as a stop gap. It never felt like the character was his long term.

Fans maybe but never underestimate the potential stupidity of the general audience.

I don't think that Warner Bros are as concerned about having everything fit into one nice neat packaged universe as they once were. The Joker movie wasn't part of the DCEU and nobody particularly complained about that.

And based off the success of that movie I think we're going to get plenty more elseworld movies that exist in their own individual universe such as the upcoming Matt Reeves Batman movie.

I do think that it could be cool to connect the Joaquin Phoenix Joker to Pattinson's Batman but from everything I've heard that isn't part of the plan.

These two vids help sum up the direction that Warner Bros are taking these DC movies with a multiverse approach:

i mean they can connect stuff if they really want to, doubt they would but flash has access to the multiverse
