I don't actually like stella that much though...carling is my favourite...although given a choice I'll have cider these days...thatchers gold is a favourite...made down the road from me

I wasn't specifically speaking of lagers, more that in the world of beer in general stella wouldn't be seen to be strong, and was surprised that that other poster felt it would be getting someone hammered that quick.

As far as lagers go, I suppose 4.5 to 5.5% is the average.

Well, no. if 4.5 to 5.5 is average, then the 4.8 you stated would be on the weaker side.

But it was never about lager, its about 4.8 considered to be strong, which I don;t think it is.
