Did you find any sweetcorn in his jobbies?

Clearly the plan is to subsidise current annual losses from king and other directors until they get in cl (???!!!) probs why the two directors folded

Sometimes you’ve got to speculate to accumulate

I’m surprised someone who shows such an interest in all things business when it comes to rangers the op doesn’t know this

you do know that clubs are allowed to run at a deficit? (there are limits) clubs DO NOT need turn a profit according to FFP rules.

You are aware that the FFP rules state you run at a loss and money can also be invested to make up parts of this. I also think they base all values wihtout taking into account tax. Teams can still run at quite a loss before FFP rules kick in

I hoped ffp rules were brought in to deal with the big clubs like Barca real PSG - that worked !!

deliberate is an interesting word for it tbh when he admits they are not capable of running at a profit.

so its not on purpose, its just what is.

They run a deficit deliberately

++++

Yes

And he has said this consistently since he took over

I am surprised you are just finding out

the clubs would rather officially run at a slight loss. Well a profit really but after shareholder take their dividends and such that put it into a slight loss so to avoid paying any tax on profits earned. These "dividends" can be stored to be "invested" again at a further date.

They could run a profit by adjusting their belt accordingly tho

It’s speculating to accumulate . Obviously in an ideal world we would be running at profit so get what your saying

rangers biggest obstacle in the race for stability is Celtic, i know that sounds obvious but if it wasnt for the intense rivalry and the need to compete then they could afford to take their time to get it right.

some fans just won't accept that though.

posted on 8/5/18

They won’t tho they really should. Over the last 6 months in particular I’ve noticed a lot of fellow fans bring imo unrealistic about where we’ve been and the situation where Celtic are still miles ahead and financially untouchable

its what seperates Celtic & Rangers fans and the majority of clubs in the world.

Win is the ONLY option, 1st is a necessity, 2nd is LAST. Not many clubs run with this attitude and without it Rangers and Celtic wold just be another Hearts & Hibs.

i wonder if we were on 2 would they be more patient, i dont doubt the more hardcore nutters among u wouldnt accept it but i wouldnt say that comes down to football, but i think more fans would.

that said, after any old firm defeat people don't think straight so it would always come up.

The funniest part of his little Q&A is that he thinks giving the managers job to a completely untested under 18's coach is going top heavy on management.

"At the moment we’ve gone more top heavy on management because we have invested in the squad and struggled with stability in the manager’s office. We’ve gone the other way. We have now gone very, very strong in the management squad."

FFP rules were brought in to favour the biggest clubs and the biggest leagues.

-----------------------------------

But win NOW isn't the only option.

The far more sensible option is to have a strategy in place to say win in 2-3 years time. That is realistic and tempers the risk.

Its boom or bust if we bet on beating celtic in the short term.

Our targets should be;

Establish ourselves in second.

Lose the paralysing fear we have developed (in the past couple of games in particular) of celtic and start to nibble some points off them in the league.

Win a cup.

That would be phenomenal progress under Steven Gerrard in year 1 in my book

Then year 2 we look to kick on again....with a target say of still being in the mix for the title by the split.

And year 3 we look to mount a very strong title challenge to celtic.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
yes it is !! of course it is. I didnt say win right now I didnt say it was a realistic option but it is the the only acceptable option. Its why we have sacked our last 3 managers for being 2nd or 3rd .... not good enough. As I said its this ambition that separates us from Hibs and Hearts and the likes. If they get 2nd they celebrate it like its 1st ! We get 2nd we sack the manager.

I wouldnt have it any other way, its the very drive that will one day see our team win the league again and get back to the top whenver that may be.

I could never see a time in the next 20 years where any other club outside Rangers and Celtic win the league or be the top team.... do you?

Thats because of one thing, the fans. Celtic and Rangers do not have fans that allow them to be 2nd best.
