Look forwards to seeing him in a City shirt then
Me, when fit he's an excellent CB
We do love a player with injury problems

Toby, Jones and Bailly
Might get a 38 games out of those 3 combined
Definitely a huge risk. He played 55 games in 2015/16 season, 39 games in 2016/17 and just 21 games in all comps this year.
A very worrying decline and trend there.
On his day he's as good as anyone in the world but last thing we need is another sicknote. I think I'd pass personally. Too much risk.
Was he not dropped from the team this season for turning down a new contract?
To be fair he's been fit for a while now but he's clearly fallen out of favour with Poch.
One more player left a feeder club. Big news👍

Is he? That doesn't say much about the quality of CB's in the world right now then.
Would be a great signing if injuries arent a concern. A defender who can pass a ball is a must.
Bring him in, We need experience in our defence.

I agree but then who immediately stands out other than him?
Ramos, Chillieni, Bonucci, Godin, Boateng, Thiago Silva etc.
He's definitely in that illustrious group when fit for me.
I've been nothing but underwhelmed whenever I've watched Thiago Silva in a big CL game for PSG.
Regarding Alderweirield, very good defender who's in his peak years, which I think we need.Though,If it wasn't for his injury record then I'll be 100% onboard the signing.

I don't watch enough of Spurs to make that judgement to be fair. I will take your word for it.
Nah I'd stay clear. His fitness record is getting worse by the year. 55apps, 39 and now 21 in all comps?
£40m+ for a 29 year old with fitness issues??? Sounds like the typical Ed Woodward blunder. I'd tell Jose to forget it and look elsewhere.
40m for a 29 year old crock?
Feck that
His injury record isn't bad at all, not sure where that's come from.
Last one was bad I guess.

Bonucci is past it, Silva isn't what he was either.
Godin is as good as there is, but he much be 31/32 now?
We need a commanding defender who can pass the ball and at £40m we aren't getting better than Toby A, so much so I'd be surprised to see Levy sell for that.
We should go for van Dijk.

You couldn't afford him
----------------------------------------------------------------------
We could, but it would be hard to justify the cost for a backup centre back.
I keep saying we don’t drastically need a centre half.
We conceded one more than City in the league, 8 fewer than Spurs and 10 fewer than Liverpool and Chelsea.
Lindelof still needs time to prove himself.
Smalling is more than capable despite having the odd blip.
Jones is quality when fit and has a consistent run in the side.
Bailly - see above.
Rojo is a decent option to have, tough tackler, much better at CB than LB.
We don’t need experience. Valencia, Young, Jones and Smalling have been here long enough.
We perhaps need a proper leader but Alderweireld doesn’t strike me as that sort of player.
What we do need is full backs who can get up and down and are as good offensively as defensively. E.g. players like Kyle Walker, Bellerin from a couple of years ago, Kimmich maybe, Marcelo etc.
We’ve lost any attacking threat from our full backs since Evra and Rafael left. Maybe Shaw can do it but needs to be given faith and the chance to show it
29 year old?? Whattt? Thought he was around the 23-24 mark.
