From relegation form to 8th, and that earns you the sack? Shocking.
However he will have made a tidy £4m or so for 6 months work.

Easy for opposition fans to be outraged as they don't have to watch the football served up by this dinosaur.
The guy has done the job he was bought in to do but lets be honest Everton were never getting relegated

Why do a lot of Utd fans want Jose gone? It's the same kind of thing. Awful football earns managers a lot less leeway.
Might of been down to the amount of money he spent and their league position at the time? No idea tbh.

Yeah I agree, 17th to 8th is a pretty good return though.
I think you'll struggle to find a manager playing good football with your squad tbh. Defenders can't pass out from the back, your best players are the likes of Walcott, Tosun, Bolasie, Siggy, Gueye, Pep would struggle to get them playing neat football.

He can't take them to the cleaners, he will have had his contract paid out in full so he's no worse off financially than if he stayed the full 18 months, he got everything he's entitled to. He knew what he was doing when he refused a 6 month deal and demanded an 18 month one.
Everton have done the right thing. They were in bother, and brought in a hired gun to resolve their problem. He did what was asked of him, gets his handful of silver and leaves. Not every manager is signed with the view to building a dynasty - Everton are in their rights to pay him up and try to restart their longer term plans with someone else.
Allardyce, Moyes, Puel - fans of these upper midtable club don't want negative, pragmatic football, they want to be entertained as much as Utd fans want to be, ultimately that is what football is all about.

He gave it large a few years ago saying he doesn’t get the big jobs because he’s not some foreign coach with a fancy name....
No, it’s because he persists with the shocking football that won’t be tolerated at most big clubs. Yes he’s earned a decent amount of points while he’s been there, but he’s been serving up dross to earn it, ranking amongst the worst in terms of possession, shots on target, passes and chances created.
Football needs to get rid of these managers with the Jurassic tactics.

100% spot on
Allardyce has carved out a reputation for doing what he does. Don't think he can complain if he's not taken seriously as a long term manager for a top-half team.
What's more, he might actually be happy to keep doing 6 months of work and getting paid for 18.

They have money to spend by all accounts, but their recruitment was terrible last summer. Bournemouth have managed to play decent football and finish comfortably in midtable so I don't see why Everton can't under the right manager.
They need a clearout in defence and a striker definitely but I think they have a decent side otherwise.
So just half the team needs clearing out
Moyes to Everton. Fat Sam to West Ham.
Wenger will be back in charge of Arsenal in Jan 2019 so it'll be like the good ol' days again.

In his defence, Mourinho, Benitez and others have got big jobs playing dour football, and won things.
On paper, he usually exceeds his clubs financial position in the league table.
I have to go and watch a Mourinho side every week, so I fully appreciate Everton fans misery. Just playing the devils advocate
I didn't mean reputation for dour football, but for being a quick fix to get teams out of the danger zone.
Bizarre that Everton have sacked Sam Allardyce after his spectacular, memorable victory on away goals against Liverpool.
Everton will get 124 million pound for finishing 8th. If they had relegated they would have gotten 97 million and missing out on 97 million next season. So he basically secured them 118 million pound. No wonder they are more than happy to pay him his contract. Its a big deal to stay up these days.
Who is this idiot who created this nonsense sharticle?
I've read some rubbish in my time but this OP tops it all
The op obviously doesn’t attend Utd games and have to watch the dross served up by Mourinho. Well we had 6 months of watching the same garbage under fat Sam and voiced our feeling of discontent to force the boards hand.
