Is this related to Abramovich's visa situation?
Tit for tat?
Or maybe the love affair with Chelsea is over.
Good news for me, I would have had to relinquish my ST's most likely if we had 4 years at Wembley.
Will the demand for 48k still be there if Roman goes though?
I just read that's the main issue. Expecting to lose your newly acquired fanbase and so the need for redevelopment isn't there?

Pretty sure we will be okay. 80 odd thousand in the 30s, 50 and 60 odd thousand in the decades after but still pre roman. Sure we will manage, thanks for the concern.

Hopefully the Stadium doesnt go ahead, Would be over the moon to stay at the current Stamford Bridge, We will soon be in an era of Spaceship futuristic stadiums so hopefully we have an old school one.
Who exactly Ace, the hassle of renting out a ticket finding people to have it for 4 years. In North London where I don't know anyone...no thanks.
Abramovic not being granted a visa and suddenly Chelsea hold off on £1bn investment into the area.
Inextricably linked to get local government to put pressure on the home office.
Wouldn't be suprised red.
Same as getting an Israeli citizenship who can enter the country near enough whenever they want was done pretty quickly too.

Na cba for it all. 20 years is good for me, around 500 games, we will see what the plan is going forward.
All joking apart, why has it all been put on hold? I will be very surprised if Chelsea do not look at building or at least expanding Stamford Bridge to hold somewhere aroundabout the same as Spurs, 60,000.
Pretty drastic though to call off the whole thing for now
If they wanted to play funny games with each other, it could have been done inside closed doors. How can Chelsea now announce the stadium is back on if the issue is Roman and his visa and he gets granted it.
Thinking about it a little more. 4 years at Wembley was a silly plan. Whoever is in charge of our stadium build needs to be sacked. This has been in the pipeline now for about 8 years and now it's been called off? Shambles tbh.
We'll be the only club with a 40k capacity whilst Arsenal Liverpool City, Utd and Spurs have 50k plus.
Still a decent size gaff for a club no longer in Europe though Mr C

No idea why I thought you and Arsenal had swapped over for a moment then
Personally I would hope you can expand your current home? Much like I'd hope we can in the future, Liverpool too.
Don't want 20 PL sides with these horrible bowl stadiums.

Why?
Tv and commercial revenue is far more important than stadium revenue.
And our ground is a nightmare to rebuild, we were looking at 7 or 8 years to rebuild and 4 years at Wembley.
If we could do it quickly like you guys it would be more feasible.
And we didn’t have a superb one tier 18k kop like your fantastic new ground.
Stadium Revenue and fans through the turnstiles are still pretty important. Otherwise why would any club ever bother with new builds or expansion of existing stadiums.

You'd be able to find someone I'm sure, Chelsea forum or Gumtree. My pal had been renting his Chelsea ST out for 3 years.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
I could sort you out I'm sure. I did this myself a couple of years ago when I thought I'd give it a go at not going. The girl who used it is from Ruislip, a stone's throw from Wembley and she is always after tickets, even though she has her own now.
PS my giving up failed miserably when the bloke who sits next to me got s job on a ski resort for the season. I ended up buying his off him so my season off consisted of me sitting in his seat while this girl sat in mine.

Of course, but commercial development more important.
Arsenal got it wrong thinking their stadium would secure them revenue they needed, then while they were paying off their loan while Bayern United even Chelsea developed a stronger brand than them.
It is only recently Arsenal have caught even Chelsea on a commercial level but hey missed the boat capitalising on their Invincibles, side tracked by their stadium.
Only now have Arsenal overtaken Chelsea in terms of revenue. If course, a big stadium helps, but commercial revenue is even more important and easier to build than an expenseive new ground

You could leave SB as it is and just give your gates as 60k. As is shown with Arsenal and West Ham the powers that be don't seem to mind how much a team falsifies its attendances.
Thank God the chimneys have been saved.

The statement released by Chelsea was pretty blunt too. Very little explanation given. Like it was an angry response. Usually there's more to come when a little brief statement like that is released.
