Even Dan Walker and the guy off BTSport applauding Bielsa.

Agree with this and ghink LDB is now history unless he can play wing back. Young Pearce is a baller so will love this

Ayling caused many problems last season by sprinting forward, so if Ayling isnt a CB in a back 3 .... Beradi could be a casualty

Great read, i like that players like Batistuta rate him highly. A concern is, the style of play is brutal in the long run and certain players won't like it.

Sorry to say it because I like the guy but I think Dallas' days in a white shirt are done just cannot see where he fits in to the Bielsa type lie up we have all seen on that Youtube video a million times.

Disagree

Dallas is a work horse, it fits this style

posted on 16/6/18

Who would you pick him ahead of? Not sure where you would place him in line up, got little game time last year, cannot see how a workhorse fits in with a high pace, highly skilled attack.
Assuming the personnel we currently have at the club, on day one, what does your line up look like on the 3-3-1-3 formation. Three CB's, holding midfielder, 2 wingbacks, enganche, 2 wide forwards and one centre forward.

Aloski isn’t that skilful , he’s a workhorse like Dallas

Am not saying I’d play Dallas

Am saying Dallas who works the wing all day long, fits into this style he has.

He fits it probably more than ayling

LDB was allowed to leave Brugge because they switched to a wingback system and they had a better player than LDB playing there.

posted on 16/6/18

Think there's more to the style of play than working the wings. Has to be more to the style than needing workhorses that run the wings all day long.
Not sure that's what the video says anyway.

But it’s not all about wingbacks running down the line though is it.

But his style is that the wingback have to have plenty of engine.

Dallas has got that, saying you can’t see where he fits in, he’s exactly the type for that style

Just read a good piece that says Leeds fans will need to keep their heads because some fans favourites maybe sold, dumped if he feels they cannot fit into his plans or adapt to the new way of playing.

This makes sense so although we can all sit here and guess who playes, who would we sell who would we keep it makes no difference so pointless arguing right now. I think whoever wears the shirt on the day is there because Bielsa believes he is the best man for the role so they all need 100% suppport. Even if Felix is ahead of BPF - check out keepers under Bielsa and what they were asked to do, then look at the keepers under Pep and Poch and Simeoni and see if we have a keeper who can do that?

Alioski seems to suit Bielsa's tactics perfectly. Could be a handy player. He works hard and the high press would suit him. Hopefully Bielsa gets him using his left peg a bit more, he's got a decent shot on him but doesn't do it often enough.

Speed is a big part of it, Dallas, like a lot of the squad, is much too slow, pressing game not his bag either. Obviously take different things from the famous video. Not sure he's going to play much if any part of the plans.
We will wait and see.

Dallas and alioski should both have a place under Bielsa.

We all of a sudden won’t sign 24 new players and Bielsa will have to work with the players he has more than he will be working with new ones.

Players like alioski and Dallas will feature.

His system also relies on 3 midfielders who are able to recycle possession very well.

Ball winner
Passer
Box to box

We have imo none of those to a standard that will make this system work effectively

Based on the squad right now, I'd go:

The back 3 would have to be
PAUDIE / PONTUS / COOPER

DM 3 (Holding mid + Wide backs)
AYLING / FORSHAW / ALIOSKI

THE ONE
SAIZ

Attacking 3
ROOFE / EKUBAN /PABS

Which shows you how badly we need upgrading.
And I doubt very much, Bielsa would pick the team
I just did. Plus, I want Ronny in my line up just
don't know if he's better than Forshaw yet.

It looks like every other season that we need 4
to 5 quality signings. And a fire sale.

Alioski can go for me no way good enough for top 6 side plus physically way too light weight.

I keep hearing rumours that fans need to prepare to say goodbye to a few fan favourites. Pontus?

posted on 16/6/18

Batty I think Don alluded to this fact on another thread , said the club are quietly looking to get rid of Pontus 10 million min.

Dallas can play both wing back roles sonhow does he not fit into the system.

posted on 16/6/18

Being able to play on either wing is irrelevant, we need a cross between Sacko and Dallas. Much too slow.

Don't need to be rapid to play wing back.

Potential starting 11 from existing squad:
Peacock-Farrell
Ayling Jansson Cooper
Dallas Forshaw Alioski
Pablo
Saiz Ekuban Roofe

Quite like the look of that but for me the front 3 would need improving first. Also think Shaughnessy could feature if it's true that Bielsa likes defenders with passing ability.
