It's a special sort of superfan that sues his own club because he is unable to walk in a straight line without falling on his face

Another scvmbag looking for a free handout.

Cheers America for giving us this blame culture.. Nobody wants to take responsibility for their own actions now, certainly not when they think they can make a quick buck out of someone else.

How did that go so wrong?

Not sure what stand it is at Celtic park but one of them is ridiculously steep. The gradiant is the maximum allowable.

There were concerns about the opening ceremony of the games due to it.

That said though this guy is a balloon. After a quick buck and nothing more. He will probably come out with some rubbish about doing it for the safety of his fellow fans

All the 3 large stands are the same gradient. Surely they were safe for nearly 20 years before the Commonwealth games were held at the ground.

Fully agree with your assessment of the 'superfan'.
Played a part in the removal of the boardroom members in 1994 but seems to think he is a cut above.

I've met Matt McGlone. The role he played in 'saving' Celtic had been greatly exaggerated, by himself. The guy is a pompous ass.

Lovely bit of karma for the guy Mcglone

Constantly having pops about ibrox. We bit like ibrox was falling down last year and roofs unsafe, only for celtics stadium to suffer some damage. Football delivers delicious ironies at times.

Maybe he was only after £50 but he was misheard..

If he’s proven correct this would have huge implications for every stadium.

That’s every stadium.

Meeting slip resistance standards is not an easy fear and I’d think practically every ground in the country would have a huge and very costly resurfacing project to meet the minimum standards.

Massive implications.

Hmmmm πŸ€”

Disagree. Every stadium is judged on its own merits for a safety certificate.

They must also have orocedures in place for inspections to ensure there’s no slip hazards. If you meet all the criteria (demonstrably) then it would be hard for anyone to successfully sue without having responsibility themselves

as i said its borderline. Its the maximum allowable. The stand i an talking about is the one at the back, i think there is a cemetry and creamery behind it? (the reason the gradient is so high)

There isnt enough clearence for safe exit of the number that stand holds. Police have never been happy with it and did object when the safety certificate was issued. Still went through though.

That was the reason we had to consider moving it to hampden, although there were other reasons such as sightlines. We managed to workout different exit plans and the directors of the ceremony worked round the practical issues

Disagree all you like πŸ˜‚

The reality is that if this claim is successful and it’s based on the stadium not meeting slip resistance gradings then it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that a recommendation to have all stadia comply would come down.

You’d have to be stupid not to comply because if anything like this happened again and the grounds owners hadn’t followed guidance, they’d be crucified.
