The bundesliga have already voted to stop using it I think I have read this week.
--------
They voted unanimously to keep it next season

Must have been fans poll or something. Sure I read they said they didn't like it. It was definitely bundesliga too.

The trouble with VAR is it’s subjective as opposed to GLT which is definitive. IMO there’s been far too many questionable pens given already this WC & some blatant not ala tonight.

I've been called a dinosaur for having this view.

Despite considerable teething problems — confusion about why decisions are made and lengthy delays — Germany's top 18 clubs unanimously voted to keep the VAR for next season with only one abstention.

The use of it here compared to when it was used in the FA Cup (WBA v LFC) is 100 times more efficient and well used.

It doesn't help that the pundits and commentators talk about it so much, when most of the discussions are unwarranted.

Too early to have a definitive view on VAR just yet. I like human error in the game, it’s a sport played by humans so should he officiated by humans meaning there will be mistakes. The issue seems to be the decisions that are not black and white and having VAR doesn’t really help with the outcome as it’s still subjective.

The issue is var no being consulted at all for those decisions on kane it felt like

Its got to get the 2/3 key decisions a game all right for me to warrant the intrusion and delay.

And when it isn't used now (like tonight) it's going to cause controversy.

No idea why so many of you like it. Its definitely splitting the community. Its our new brexit.

There's too much cheating in football these days. I don't believe the VAR operators are impartial.

Its easy to see where it's heading. Each team getting 1 review card to use in a game or maybe each half when the ball goes out of play next.

We're going to end up destroying the beautiful game.

Already ruined imo - since 1992.

Well this article is complete crap.

So VAR it has been an improvement and some good decisions have been made because of it

You need a reality check if you think those two are 'blatant' penalties.

Both cases it's Kane bringing the defender down, not vice versa.

First, there some grappling (incidentally, just as Stones gives his own marker a good shove), and then Kane wraps his arm over the Tunisian's shoulder and flops to the ground backwards, taking the Tunisian with him.

The second is even more blatant, as he actually grabs the defender's arm and flops down face first, pulling his opponent down in top of him.

Fair enough not to see this when you're caught up in the heat of the moment, but both incidents were non-pens and the officials got them spot on.

So basically you don't want it because it wasn't used for a few decisions tonight?

Doesn't that go against the reasoning for not wanting it

posted on 18/6/18

Btw, SE85, just to clarify for you - incidents are continuously reviewed by the panel. The ref only stops to review when he disagrees with or hasn't seen something the video assistants are pointing out to him.

In both of the cases you've complained about tonight, it's obvious they're all wise to what Kane has done. Might con the fans, but not a bloke who's been reffing these situations at close quarters for years.

Neville, Martin O'Neil n Dixon are with me anyway.

Clear and obvious??? Yeah right.

When I first started watching football, it was easy to know what was a penalty - there was little or no diving or cheating - none of the grappling at corners etc. - and there was no need for VAR. Players were as close to the fans as to fellow players - no divas/money motivation to ruin the game.

Not saying it was perfect, but it was HONEST.

I suppose I AM a dinosaur.
