Sweden were unlucky in 94, Dahlin and Brolin tearing it up. Brazil were better but the semi could have been a lot different.
England 2010 worth a shout
Holland were unlucky in 98, lost on pens to Brazil but we're brilliant.
Scotland were unlucky in 78
Been watching world cups from 1990 onwards, Germany in 2010 were very good I thought.

Brazil 98 were very good. Also, France 82. That team were a joy to watch.
England's teams for 2000 - 2010
I'll go for Brazil 82. People play them down but they were the last of the beautiful Brazil sides. Gorgeous football, wonderful skill but terrible defensively - no tactical nous.
Apart from that you are looking for the Polish teams of the 50s and 60s imo.
The superb Dutch teams of 1974 & 1978 must well up that list
I agree with those saying Brazil 1982 and the Dutch of the 1970s. Beautiful "sexy" football!

We may laugh at them, but player wise they easily had one of the best squads in the competition. They were let down by idiotic management and choices for training grounds/ half built hotels etc.
Out of those I've seen, I'd go for the France side that made the semis in '82 & '86 and were European champions in between.
Memories have faded a bit now, but even though I was just a young lad I remember they were great to watch. Still one of the best int'l midfileds in my lifetime.
Too young to remember The Netherlands side of '74, and still not old enough to properly appreciate them in '78.

Amazing that Falcao is still playing for Colombia these days!
The Dutch teams of 74 and 78. Also Portugal of 1966 with Eusabio, they were the best team even though England lifted the competition.

The Dutch were pretty good in 98. Good players, really strong kits. Would have been worthy winners.

They were not a good team at all.
The individuals were good, but the team was drab
1938 Hungary. Might only be my memory that can trace back that far.
