Kind of hanging your hat on the "was once voted 3rd in Balon D'Or" thing. Iniesta was voted 3rd. He was also once voted 2nd, so their peers perhaps rate him a bit better...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Correct. I'm not sure what your point is. You seem to now be arguing against something I haven't said. Perhaps as your original point isn't standing up?

My original point was that Iniesta was a better player than Gerrard. That stands up fine as far as I'm concerned. Not sure what you're blithering about here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Well that is fine and you're entitled to that opinion of course. However your original point was that Iniesta was a better player as his club and country won more trophies, which is what I'm blithering on about.

Hazard by a countrymile is better than Salah.

Sandy has had his input. This confirms Salah is better.

Not to mention the fact that nobody stated Gerrard was better than Iniesta. You just came bombing into the article like a bull in a China shop, well more like a new born calf, arguing against something that wasn't said.

The context of that comment was that Gerrard, while an excellent player, was a serial underachiever. One of the reasons Barca and Spain won so much was because of Iniesta's contribution, he was integral, hence his Balon D'Or nominations around that time.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
No he wasn't. He just played his whole career at a club who weren't at an elite level. If you switched Gerrard into Barcelona and Spain he'd have won a load of trophies but again they are team achievements not individual ones of which Gerrard won many, despite not being in an elite team.

He didn't underachieve at all, unless using your logic of team achievements, you expected Liverpool to win as much as Barcelona did.

Salah is a great player made to look world class with the right manager and tactical setup supporting his strengths. But any team would be lucky to have him.

Hazard is a great player that many mistake for being world class by virtue of the fact he's had managers who don't play to his strengths thus giving him an excuse. But any team would be lucky to have him.

That's my two cents in a nutshell

To help you feel like you're not insane, Hazard definitely doesn't score enough goals. But that's one of the only aspects of his game that prevents him being world class.

If he banged in 20-25 a season consistently he'd be close to the perfect inside forward.

The old Gerrard debate got me thinking is Kane the new Gerrard/Shearer type of player? if he stays at Spurs for his entire career will he be able to carry his team to atleast a few major trophies? A player at a club whos team are alright and seem to have stumbled upon their golden era but still success is being hindered by bigger clubs or richer clubs or the mighty Lesta.

Gerrard was in a few solid teams that ran the league close or had a good spine or some quality players around but ultimately he dragged some poor teams to the CL and FA cup etc and won the mini treble early on (well it was 5 in all). Would Iniesta or Scholes have been able to do that? two players who some claim are far superior but in reality were only in superior teams, i highly doubt they could have had anywhere near the impact in such teams yet i understand Gerrard wouldnt have been able to run the show for Barca like Iniesta or Scholes for Utd but the quality in players around them was an unfair advantage in reality and im sure Gerrard would have supplied the likes of Messi and co and RVN and co equally well if not better albeit it differently.

Shearers goal scoring carried Newcastle close but ultimately won nothing with his boyhood club but did bag the prem at blackburn under Kenny. He has the advantage of having played the same role and Newcastle were closer to Spurs size n stature etc now. But ultimately im talking about great players who are not in the best teams, where we see people claiming this players better because he was fortunate enough to be in the best club/ international teams or abandoned loyalties for greater success and the easy life like Rooney and many others.

If Kane stays at Spurs for his entire career and wins them the CL and a few cups will he be classed as inferior because he didnt win as many trophies as Rooney? Was Rooney > Shearer? Personally i hope Kane stays at Spurs until he retires he seems to have loyalty to them. Would like to see how far he can take them and if others will stick around long enough or will they leave him like Alonso,Masch, Torres etc left Gerrard when the team was looking to be shaping up.

Salaah had the better season and was the best player in the league. Can he do it again ? Im not saying i cannot but we will have to see.

There's nothing to dislike about Salah, he is brilliant, so so cool in front of goal.

But I'd take Hazard over him any day, he is just a level above.

Salah has had one good season in his career. Probably will not have another anywhere near as good for the rest of his career. Hazard is doing it year on year.

Sandy once again displaying that he not even doesn't have a clue about football in the PL but he knows even less, if that's even possible, about football outside the PL. Do you honestly think Liverpool bought him after him not having a good season you crusty old prune?

Can you tell me these Spurs wingers who are hitting twenty-five goals and assists in a season, which Salah was around in the two seasons before joining Liverpool?

Lol everyone has been reeled in here. The only reason Wahl doesn’t like hazard is because of the falling out with mourinho and that mou kept playing hazard through injury and hazards father came out and called Jose out on it.

He doesn’t care whose better or not. Just wants to hate on hazard. Let’s stop feeding the troll ay?
