This weekends action is in the World Series, but Nathan Aspinall won't have a chance to add a second title.

2019 German Darts Masters
Draw Bracket
(1) Peter Wright v Robert Marijanovic
Gary Anderson v Nico Kurz
(4) Daryl Gurney v Christian Bunse
James Wade v Kevin Munch
(2) Michael van Gerwen v Martin Schindler
Mensur Suljovic v Maik Langendorf
(3) Rob Cross v Max Hopp
Raymond van Barneveld v Gabriel Clemens

Unlike in Vegas, you have to fancy at least one home player to progress against the big hitters. Clemens would be the obvious choice, while Hopp is the highest rated.

The big story from the first session was Stephen Bunting beating Gerwyn Price 13-12.
Gary Anderson and Rob Cross both eased through, while Mervyn King shocked Nathan Aspinall.

Not the most enticing line up of games tonight. World number 4 Daryl Gurney faces Ricky Evans, the most in form player around, Peter Wright is against Vincent van der Voort, Big John Henderson meets Simon Whitlock and Jonny Clayton and Keegan Brown battle out the opening game.

I wouldn't want to be too near the front of the stage during the Henderson v Whitlock match in this heat. Both of them look like they kick up a bit of a stink.

I know he's Australian but at 50 years old isn't it time that Whitlock stopped trying to look he's the main speaker at an Extinction Rebellion rally.

Big John blows it. Whitlock 10-8

Gerwyn Price the only top 11 OoM player out so far. Only Stephen Bunting from the next 12 still in
