Some say Spurs are bottlers, yet 3 Spurs players stepped up for one of the most important penalty in their lives under the scrutiny of billions of people worldwide, and each took his penalty with success.

Not every England player scored from the penalty, let's not forget.

Henderson bottled it.

He owes one to Tripper, Dier and Pickford.

At this rate of succes, have all Spurs players take the penalties.

Because when the chips are down, you find out who is the REAL bottler!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
A keeper saving a good penalty is not bottling it. What Henderson did wrong is about experience of taking penalties. He telegraphed where he was going by the way he positioned himself for the penalty. Everybody could see he was attempting to place it into the bottom right so you can be sure as hell the keeper could tell.

Dier hit a poor penalty which the keeper should have saved.

Once again you've demonstrated that football is not for you. You're clueless. Jimmy would be turning in his grave at your lack of knowledge on the game.
----------------------------------------------------------------------

If he telegraphed where he was going to put it, it wasn’t a good penalty.

Dier didn’t hit a good penalty? but he didn’t appear to telegraph where he would hit it as the keeper didn’t save it

Kane has been excellent, really hope he can win the Golden boot, I didn't really know too much about Trippier but he has played very well. At start of the tournament I would have prefer to have Walker playing wing back but with the form of Trippier you can't really drop him. Ali has been unfortunate with injuries in this tournament so far. I prefer Dier over Henderson, I would also prefer Rose over Young as I feel he is quicker and better going forward.
England really do need to find goals from somewhere else though, over reliant on Kane.

Henderson made it obvious where he was gonna put it, whereas Dier did the opposite. That's the real difference in the pens

Not Trippier's no 1 fan in general but let's give credit where it's due, he's been superb this tournament. Heard he's created the 3rd most chances of any player at the World Cup too

What I'm saying is the position of the penalty was a good one. It was right in the corner but because he telegraphed it the keeper was able to guess correctly and make a good save.

The position of Dier's penalty wasn't a good one and the goalkeeper made a poor attempt, he should have saved it.

Of course if you simplify it, one didn't score and the other did and therefore the one that went in was a better penalty. But you'd have to be of a simple mind, like you, to think that.

Somebody can hit a great shot like the one Pickford saved in the same game or a crap one like Ronaldo hit, which De Gea threw in, that doesn't make the latter better. This is perhaps too high level for you, I'm expecting too much.

I'm happily loving all the England players right now, whether it be Henderson or Young. I don't know why some England fans still have to make it about club rivalries. Henderson didn't bottle anything, he was unlucky.

Henderson is one player I knew would miss!

I thought Henderson would miss too, but then other than Kane I thought they would all miss, since it's England at penalties.

Lol that is true. I had no idea who else could take pens apart from Kane and Vardy.

I was surprised Vardy wasn't one of the takers.

Trippier was actually the player I most thought would miss. Don't know why; possibly because I just don't associate him with penalties or scoring in general.

Vardy is now out injured, which could explain him not taking a pen.

I think I heard something about that on the radio but wasn't sure. He definitely seems like the kind of person that would be up for taking one otherwise.

Vardy was supposed to take the 5th pen but he pulled his groin muscle so Dier volunteered

Ffs you cannot help having a dig at Liverpool

Henderson didn't bottle it at all. Any player that steps up to take one deserves credit. Hendo just made it too obvious which way he was going and the keeper pulled off a good save.

Why can't you ever put your hatred of Liverpool aside. We're all cheering on England here and heir fans have been very complimentary about Spurs players.

We are all England supporters for the World Cup, rivalries can be put aside. We can resume battle again in August.

So in summary, Henderson telegraphed his penno and it was saved.
Dier didn’t telegraph his penno and it wasn’t saved.

Maybe for the Pickford save the opposition player telegraphed what he was going to do and the Ronaldo one he didn’t.

I remember in the early 90s, Giggs was doing kick-ups whilst walking to the spot. Missed.

Sure I’ve seen a couple of others as well.

As soon as Hendo was doing the kick ups I called miss.

Something about that lax attitude.

It's the player trying to show how confident and nonchalant they are off, the fact they are so desperate to show how confident and nonchalant they are shows they are probably bricking it.

spurs are muck and so are their players

henderson ran himself into the ground to save england then stood up with others hid and took a pen.

if not for henderson colombia would have won in extra time.

And he threw it all away by taking a poor penno. Pickford becoming a national hero.
