Future fans will talk about Jordan Henderson in the same breath as Bobby Charlton.

Jordan Henderson is the reason we will not be winning the world cup. Our midfield is unfortunately non-existent. Alli, Loftus cheek, Dier and Henderson are really poor options and it'll cost us.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Henderson is unbeaten in his last 28 games for England, which is the longest unbeaten run of any player ever to play for England.
So not sure how you believe he'll be the reason England won't win.
Don't get me wrong, I don't think we'll win the world cup, but it will be because we are beaten by a team with better quality in all areas of the pitch, and won't be simply down to any perceived lack of quality just in midfield.
The ace’s of 2040 will complain how Henderson steals bog roll and tea off Liverpool football club in his roll as ambassador.

Doubt it
The caaant will be in prison for being a mouthy cockney gobsheite and he will be getting relentlessly bummed
What?

without the goalkeeper, England would be back home by now watching Colombia vs Sweden today
Regardless of what you or I know today, tomorrow's Wahls and Strettys will rush in to point out that Henderson was by far the better player because in Charlton's days they were all just a bunch of fat fecks in lead boots kicking a pig's bladder around a potato field.
—————-
This is absolutely true though! I watched highlights of the World Cup final in 1966 and it was an absolute joke quality wise.
Always surprising Ace, your ignorance of Bobby Charlton. He left United to become a manager, did not enjoy it and opened the Bobby Charlton soccer school, which was a success. When it was sold he netted over a million, when that was a lot. He had no need to freeload.
He was invited onto the board because of his international reputation and knowledge.
I think you will find one or two Spurs players who have lived off the club without worrying about Bobby.

Erik. You are an idiot. I can't be bothered to argue, but I watched some highlights of Chelsea under Jose first time around and was blown away at how poor they were, almost a joke compared to today's luminaries.

I went to Spurs to watch a game in a Box.
was hosted by Chivers, Peters and Mabbut. (What an England legend Martin Peters is BTW)
Still was amazed how they all still freeloaded from the guests!

Great post Op.
The nickkipopopoposaurus of 2022 reminding everyone its coming home and that england has the toughest route to a final ever in the history of any competition in 2018.
The blueinbarcas of 2036 after having been found to have lived in a bedsit in Clapham wood all along and never been to Barcelona, will rejoice when the 2036 cup is held in Catalonia. But he still won’t go.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Nick will claim that France were eliminated due to Pogba ruining their midfield, Belgium thanks to Lukaku's inability to trap a football, Sweden due to Lindelof, Argentina due to Rojo, Serbia due to Matic, and Brasil due to Fred and Spain due to Mata, despite the fact they didn't play.
All in all, 2018 was a poor World Cup primarily because so many terrible United players were involved (particularly Pogba, who as good as ruined the whole tournament for everyone single-handedly), and Gary Cahill basically won the thing for England on his own despite the best efforts of Rashford, Lingard and Young to destroy England's chances with their Championship-standard football.

It is September 2018, 2 months after England has won the World Cup. Country’s economy is in shambles. No one has been to work since the win. Alcohol is now rationed due to fears of shortage. Harry Maguire is announced ministry of defence. Jordon Pickford’s statue of his save vs Colombia is erected in all major towns and cities. Jesse Lingardz is running for PM. No one has seen Southgate for 3 weeks, rumour has it he was last seen in Vegas

Well they wont. Bobby Charlton was one of 4 WC players England had in the 66 team and was regarded as the best footballer in the World, at the time by many. I doubt that Herenderson is the best player down his own street.
This is why we wont win the WC as we don't have enough great players to overcome France or Belgium, when it counts (now) and Croatia would be touch and go.
Sweden and Russia, yes we should be beating.
But Jordan as a WC winner, if it did happen, I get what you are saying. Ashley Young, and Sterling too.
What a thought!
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Yeah, but Charlton only won it in '66, then came second in '67 & '68. I wasn't around to say if he was considered the best or amongst the best before then or not. Maybe he was viewed in the same light as JH.
Leading his club to a CL final and country to a World Cup title would surely put Hendo in the frame for the Ballon d'Or. L'pool were also cheated out of victory in the final, so there's that for voters to consider too.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
There was three World Cups in three years then?
He was never viewed in the same light as Henderson.
I'm not going to knock Henderson, he is a decent player and seems a decent guy.
Football is a team sport, we.wont win or lose the world Cup because of him, and we didn't because of Bobby.
But it is a fact that Bobby was a much better player.
Hendo > Charlton !!
Suzanne Charlton, not so sure
Bobby was World Class, Hendo ..........mmmm

Sure I’ve asked this ioag, so sorry to re-run this. But I am in full England yobbo mode.
So much so, fell asleep at a mates, got my head shaved ffs. Are we 16 here? Only realised this morning when I got out of Robb’s girlfriends(sic) shower. But like a disabled Edward Scissor hands style cut.
Not got time to sort it yet, going to sister’s after game and she will shave it to the lowest common denominator.
But back to my question, Spanish or English? 50/50 right?
Your English is too good to be anything less I’d say

I don’t mean to cause any offence, I was just watching the goals and the defenders were a little all over the place and the keepers weren’t at all convincing. The way the players kicked the ball as well had no real technique to it. The standard did not look good in my opinion.
