i assume the board had a fair idea ths would happen i think there was a suggestion from somebody at the club a few weeks ago that the home top would be on sale mid august at earliest with away and 3rd in the following months

it was never going to be sold in july

Short term possibly. The point being that if Ashley is paying the same as the deal we had negotiated then we lose nothing.

I’d actually be tempted to go with fatty so at least we made some money off him after he shafted is with last deal

After all it is Hummel's product, and I would imagine that when they did a deal with Rangers the distribution and sales points would have been discussed. Maybe they don't want to sell their products in SD? There are after all some controversial aspects of being involved with them.

Maybe also if part of the deal was for example selling on Hummel's website it would lead to sales of further Hummel products, which a deal with SD would deny them?

Possibly . Tho if it’s got to be on same terms, then surely it will be exact same.

Of course there could be a negative impact on Rangers.

Imagine Ashley loses. You don't think he might appeal. Depending on how this plays out it could be months before it's sorted.

Were Hummel aware of this clause in the contract? Were the new retail partner? Will the proposed new partner be happy that SD get to pore over every aspect of their deal? How long is Ashley allowed from the date he receives the information till he decides if he wants to match it? That would take a bit of time surely.

Rangers have made a right mess of this.
