good signing

Be interesting to see if playing for Klopp, in what I presume are quite physically demanding training sessions (although he'll probably spend his weekends sat on the bench) if he manages to look less fat.

I rate him, said he's be a good signing for any of the top sides (bar City probably), especially you or Spurs who's attacking options off the bench were a bigger drop in quality to your starters than ours are.

Definitely a potential match winner as a substitute, who doesn't need those.

Spell his facking name right ffs. This has potential to go like Firmino/Firminio/Firminho.

Anyway I dont mind the signing if we add Fekir. Hell bang one in every six games and play the odd nice pass.

Shaqiri is surely coming because you didnt get Fekir?

Dpubt it Edin.

I think Fekir will be arriving soon enough in fact.

Also looks like D Ward is making a case for Livrpols No 1

He's not the answer GB, we need to buy a new keeper.

Happy with Shaq though agree he adds great depth to the attack

His set pieces too will be good for us, since Cout left we really only have Trent who has real dead ball quality.

I hope it's not a case of we get Shaqiri in and no Fekir or someone else, we need 2.

That's the general thought back in France

Seeing conflicting stories on Fekir, one side it's dead, on antoher it's going to be reopened after the world cup.

In terms of one or the other I don't think myself that this is the case. We needed a player to cover Mane / Salah in the wide forward positions but also still need one more who can cover wide but play i the midfield 3 too.

We do have Ox / Lallana though who can do this so hard to tell.

This all smacks of Klopp trying to talk up another poor transfer window. Considering Keita was already signed a year ago we have one signing in Fabinho and a cut price signing who clearly has struggled to fit into Klopp high energy style.

Add that to the goalkeeping situation where Ward was deemed not as good as Karius or Mig last season and now he’s suddenly become the answer to our GK woes.

New owners please who will actually try and capitalise on our CL final appearance rather than just cream the profits off the top.

FSG out.

What we're the other poor windows? The ones with Salah and Robertson? The one with VVD? Or maybe the ones with Mane?

IMO fekir is highly likely to come after world cup.

I think shaqiri is wide forward cover and fekir is for no 8 role in midfield.

Karius Ward
TAA clyne
Robertson moreno
Lovren Matip Gomez
VVD klavan
Henderson Fabinho
Kieta Wijnaldum milner
Fekir Ox lallana
Mane Shaqiri
Firmino
Salah Wilson?

loads of players. biggest issue for me is which of origi sturrdige, ings and sloanke will be firminos cover this year.

Its obvious RCB and GK are issues in terms of quality then.

Nope, we have won one trophy since FSG arrived and that’s not good enough. Our net spend is abysmal compared with the teams we compete against, we continually sell our best players and the reason they want to leave is they know they won’t be winning anything at Anfield.

We are a stepping stone club these days.

Jog on ARE, you literally have zero credibility left at this stage as FSG have proven you wrong at every turn.

Off the top of my head

New stand
Broken transfer fee numerous times
Exponential market growth
Breaking US market
Expanding in Asian market
Spent 75 million on the most expensive defender ever

The manager himself has stated numerous times that he has the full backing of the owners, he just doesn't spend for the sake of it. VVD is the perfect example of this, and the owners knew they had to, and did pay more than the original price ergo fully backed the manager to get the man he wanted.

We've signed Fabinho and now Shaq, 2 well established players who will bolster our squad, and the WC is still on and feck all deals have been done.

Honestly mate you're a badly broken record at this point with nothing to really prove your points.

I'm open for you to prove me wrong but have a strong feeling you have feck all to comeback with.

Trophies you have a point, we've been to multiple finals though under them that we've lost, is that their fault?

As for the net spend, well again you have a point but when we're getting 100 odd million for a player that want's to leave then that will skew that figure to a large extent.

You say our best players leave so you're really talking Cout and Suarez (don't make me laugh by saying Can in this)

Both players were offered huge deals to stay, they both went to Barca, both a South American and stated their desire was to play for Barca, what more could FSG have done to keep them?

If the investment in players had been more advanced earlier like VVD and Keita then we don’t lose those finals. It’s all been far to slow. Players then start to look elsewhere to challenge for trophies. FSG receive huge transfer fees and then buy back players within what we have sold. OK up to a point except our competition is not doings the same. To me it’s simple for example the final V Man City. It comes down to investment in the squad. And that’s why we don’t come up to the mark.

Look at the CL final. A 4m goalkeeper destroyed our chances on his own. You can’t get away with that at the top level unless you have a genius scouting system which we just do not have.

I don’t think FSG are incompetent it’s just they have taken far too long to make an impact. I could live with that if they were progressing now but we are back to square one with the transfer window so far IMO. We will be seeing Karius and Ward fouling up and undoing the good work a very useful team does next season. It’s all very sad.

We have a fantastic opportunity to capitalise on the CL final, I hope the owners can see that and invest heavily on at least bringing in a keeper who is worthy of the job.

maybe it's the mamagers fault then? FSG have provided the funds to get us into numerous finals, but we keep losing.

Surely it's more logical for you to want rid of Klopp.
