I like Lamela. Very talented but has been plagued with problems. He was one of our key players before injury. Happy with him staying.
When he’s fit he’s a good player. Good news

So that’s Son & Lamela that shouldn’t have had new contracts according to you
We’d be letting players leave for free if you ran the place
too long 1 or 2 year extensions then see, especially Lamela when was the last time he had a decent spell.
Are you a spurs fan dave&danny?
Why would we only offer son that when he’s a big player for us?
Lamela now has a chance to shine if not we can get top money for him than letting him go for free/cheap
Strange views some have
Lamela gets the whole London thing, he usually gets well stuck in and gives a good account of himself against Arsenal and Chelsea. Before his injury in Oct 16 he was playing very well.
Son is much more of a flat track bully but well worth having in the squad.
Pamela lamela is absolute pony. Son I am happy with but lamela u gotta be kidding.

Lamela has been here long enough, cant see him improving , could have spent the money more wisely, what happens when Son does his National Service for Korea, do Spurs pay for that too,

Lamela been injured ( quite badly ) for half the time here yet was still 5 most productive player last season.
He deserves a chance and if it doesn’t work he can leave for a decent fee.
As for Son you ( and me ) know absolutely nothing about when/or if his service happens. I assume the contract will be suspended until he’s done if it happens.
Absolutely nothing wrong with giving these two new long deals and to think otherwise is plain stupid.
I’m happy with this news , if he can stay injury free his a nailed on starter in my view.
Some Spurs fans are either clueless or overly negative. Probably both

A nailed on starter? Really?
If we're honest he isn't that great. He has 10 goals in over 100 appearances for an attacking mid.
I'm content with keeping him as he can be a useful squad player but I really would have expected a better player after 5 seasons given the improvements shown by others. As I keep saying about him, he's never shown a period of fantastic form before, whereas Son, Dele, Eriksen all have. What you get is a 7 out of 10 performance maybe once every 3 games, at best, and after 5 seasons I'm past thinking that's ever going to change.
We played some of our best stuff with a on form lamela in the team. Goals aren't what he's there for spurtle. I agree not nailed starter for sure but great squad player
At the end of the day we can get a decent fee for him and serie a clubs will be interested
See how he performs this season now
Lamela is one of those players that really needs to be playing regularly to get the best out of him, and is that really going to happen? Can we really say he will nail down a regular starting spot. I doubt it. LIke a lot of players if you don`t get enough game time, then your form suffers. He is up against Son and Moura for a first team spot, one of those three needs to really nail down a regular spot, rotating all three is not going to be the way forward.
Of son was consistent we would be laughing
I'm pleased by this. As for Sonny, absolutely no point in double guessing what will happen with his national service.

Sorry Spurtle but I disagree, the season before he was out for a year he was fantastic. Proper team player who puts in a shift regardless of the result or goals scored. His passing and vision is top notch.
Who does he start ahead of when his competition is Son, Eriksen and Dele?
