Well the rumor mill says Real are in for Trippier.
maybe Levy will be tempted by big money yet again

So, what is happening to Aderweireld, Dembele, Aurier ...
and is there are strike partner for Kane in the offing?

----------------------------------------------------------------------

I would take £50m for Trips in a heart beat, good player but definitely replaceable at a fraction of that amount.

Alderweireld will be sold this summer, only question is how much we will get for him. Dembele I don't think will be sold.

Why would we buy a strike partner for Kane? We play with 1 up top

Ha ha they can have him for £50m. His World Cup performance has been overblown because he took good set pieces which padded his chances created numbers

Spurs fans are incredibly fickle

We have a very strong first eleven, all that we need are two to three good signings to strengthen the squad.

However the inherent problem is all about money. No not spending it, but justifying it.
Average players are costing £20-30m and half decent players are now around £50m, which of course is stupid.

We also need to shift out before shifting in. Simple economics and practicalities.

Why Grealish? He is home grown and we need to balance the squad out. How many of you knew that Dier is regarded as a foreign player?

As mentioned, there are still 3 weeks to go and whilst it is not ideal, quite a bit can and most likely will happen in that time.

What going from a team that were happy to finish 10th each year and lauding our 1 man genius team of Klinsmann/Ginola/Teddy whilst surrounding them with dross like Nethercott/Kerslake/Austin. Turning into a CL side. That Levy, he doesn't know what he is doing.

It's bed shiitting and it's ridiculous, there are 3 weeks to go, we've lost no one and I'm sure deals are being worked on."

Mate this counter argument of where we were before is getting tiresome now. We were a totally different club in the Klinsman and Ginola days etc. We're now in a position where we can't afford to stand still. Sooner or later, it will backfire on us and all the other top teams will overtake us. Then what are you going to say ? Oh we never had is so good etc etc .... we have 1 trophy in 20 years under Levy's leadership. I couldn't give a sh** about us in the 90s mate, totally different era and club. I want to see this club win stuff and I think it's about time us long suffering supporters with our huge ticket prices, get to see a little success at this club no??? We will do nothing if we are consistently dithering about with weeks to go until the season starts whilst everyone around us is improving.

Not fickle at all mate. I have this stance and view on levy with his bulls** ways in the transfer market for years now.

Everyone? Arsenal have bought utter dross, Everton are dropping £50m on Richarlison. City have only bought Mahrez - a position they arguably didn't need to strengthen. Chelsea have changed their manager again and their best player looks like leaving. United have strengthened slightly and Liverpool have had a decent window.

We have 3 weeks left, if we're still not doing anything in 2 weeks time then fair enough, but 3 weeks is ages in transfers, and Levy nearly always waits until the last fortnight.

etc etc etc.
ATM when he is out there's a big hole in the squad that one hope Son fills.
And THAT is a HOPE!

Okay Ted name the top striker who is coming to Spurs to sit on the bench and wait for Kane to get tired or injured? We tried with both Jansen and Llorente, it doesn't work.

We will play Kane up top and then Sonny or Alli will cover when he is not available, just like last year. If Reo Griffiths impresses pre season then he may get an opportunity. We won't buy a number 9 this window, and we don't need one.

We have a crwoded schedule with Euro Cup matches and FA tin pot matches in addition to the Prem, that there is ample room for 2 top strikers.
If the Manchester teams and Pool can do it, why can't we?

Arguero,
Jesus,

Sane

If those 4 can get along, why can't Kane and ANOther get along?

I asked it before and I will ask it again, name the decent number 9 willing to come and sit on our bench waiting for Kane to be injured or tired? Just name him.

Liverpool have the likes of Origi, Solanke, Ings who never play bar the odd 20 mins from the end.

Who is Uniteds back up striker?

We need a CM as Dembele is coming to the end, Winks is always injured (basically our Wilshere) Sissoko isn't good enough to start consistently and Dier is gonna be covering CB at this rate.

Those 4 get along because it's just Aguero (nearly always injured) and Jesus (already had a couple of bad injuries before the age of 20) rotating. It's not difficult with just 2, £300k a week wages and the knowledge you will be going deep in most cup comps.

If Spurs make no transfers in or out this summer then for 4 starting positions in the Attack we will have a choice of the following:

Kane
Son
Llorente
Llamela
Alli
Eriksen
Moura
Janssen
Nkodou
Onomah

That's 10 players for 4 positions, plus we have only kept hold of youth team sensation Reo Griffiths as we have told him there will be opportunities in the first team this year I.e. League cup. So 11 for 4 positions.

1. Kane
2. son
3. Janssen
4. llorente
5. Onomah.

That's it!

I will comment:

Kane .. over used, form fell off in WC
Son ... great when on form, but unreliable, not an outright CF.
Llorente.... total failure, on way out.
Llamela.... unproven, under used, and a midfielder.
Alli..... midfielder, also off form at WC.
Eriksen .... midfielder, lucky to have him.
Moura .... totally unproven. Midfielder.
Janssen ... useless, on way out.
Nkodou ... Good God, scraping the barrel
Onomah .... totally unproven

So ... count our proven CFs now!!

Llorente, Janssen, Sissoko and N’koudou have all got to go. Levy and Poch need to wise up and admit this lot are standard bearers of poor scouting and fack them off for half the price we paid for them.

We need a CM badly.
- Not one who might be good in a few years
- Not some average 22 year old championship player
- Not yet another physical specimen

One who is playing at a high level and can help dictate the tempo. If it costs £60m then so be it. Anyone who says the club can’t afford that sort of fee is talking nonsense.

Ted

At risk of repeating myself, for the 3rd time please name the decent striker who will be happy to sit on the bench for us for most the season waiting for Kane not to play. Just name that striker Ted, don't give me Onomah is listed as a forward, I'm not interested, just tell me the striker.

We tried with Morata before he went to Chelsea - he literally commented on not wanting to be behind Kane. Unfortunately Harry has got them all running scared. We are lucky that Sonny can do that duel role for us.

NAME THE STRIKER TED.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

Nearly all the top teams have rafts of existing players not doing pre season due to the World Cup, so not too much of an issue.

A lot of our targets - Grealish/Zaha/Martial/De Ligt/Pulisic didn't go to the WC and therefore have had a pre season - it's probably part of the reason why we are after them

posted on 22/7/18

to answer the original question.... NO, i don't think we will sign a single player this window. i think levy will overprice players we are trying to sell, will low ball possible deals for new signings and use the stadium and keeping kane as an excuse. i can see poch and kane leaving for madrid in 12 months. i hope i'm wrong but the signs are not good. Poch must be kicking himself having signed the new deal when he did following all that hot air from levy

if the season started tomorrow i think levy thinks that this squad MIGHT just be good enough to make top 4 and get out of the CL group stage... & i think he's fine with that ! To challenge city, liverpool and united for the league, make the last 4 of the CL and have a squad deep enough that its doesn't fade come seasons end, giving us a chance at silverwear probably requires an outlay of 100mln+ and he simply isn't gonna/ can't afford to spend that !.... so why bother ? This is our reality, for all the talk about pushing on/ having ambition by us fans i don't believe it's shared by lewis and levy !!! long term the club is in great financial shape but that has no bearing on our on field success for the next year or 2. look at the stadium ... as great as it is !!!! did we really need to go quite so overboard??? would it not have been better for example to have ditched some of the fluff... made it 55k and perhaps allocated some of the money to smarter squad development.... i think ace said it months ago... we are gonna have a timex team in a rolex stadium... it's so typical of spurs.... style over substance !!!
