Karius is probably in a similar situation to what Jim Leighton was at United way back when.
Confidence shot to pieces, having the goalkeeping yips, erratic form compounded by big mistakes in a cup final. Happened to Leighton in 1990, he only played 1 more game in 2 years at United. Lost the trust of the manager due to his panicky performances.
Probably best for Karius to move away from Liverpool now, his mistakes will always be brought up, moreso if he is still at the club.

problem is social media in general, its not just some lfc fans that were given him grief, its also people from other clubs aswell using him as something to laugh at, think he needs a loan away to somewhere he will start, hes obviously not a terrible gk as he wouldnt have been first choice at a german club, but its clearly not going to work out for him here.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Anyone who generalises the actions of a clubs fans based on social media, particularly Twitter, is obviously a bit simple IMO. Funny that rival fans were laughing at our keeer situation last season are now saying the club, and fans, have been disloyal now we’ve signed someone who will improve us in that position.
I’d like to see him stay on as our second keeper. He showed some decent form second half of last season before the CL semi and final. He’s still young and think he can learn.
he's young but so is allison. i would either loan him out or let him go somewhere he likes. mig can be a decent back-up.
Karius needs to take it on the chin. Actually Ramos already did that
But seriously, he’s been backed to the hilt by the manager up to the CL final where he effectively cost us the game and into the new preseason where he might have decided to promote Ward. How many chances does he need???
Yes, there is disgusting vitriol on the social media. Then for fecks sake, delete your accounts man.!!!!
The bottom line is if we continually fack up in our professional lives then we end up without a job.
Karius should consider himself lucky he’ll end up far more wealthy than many more hardworking competant professionals in his life.
im sure you could apply that last past to tons of people

I think he felt brtrayed by the club and fans.
We all go through tough phase in life.
But to be abandoned by your very own especially when you needed them the most can be really hard to take.
To make matters worse, he might have believed the club's slogan of YWNA is real. Unfortunately, he found out the hard way that it's just a marketing gimmick.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
cause of a minority on the internet? i dont think hes as stupid as you are mate as horrible as it is.
Karius has a big head anyway do him well to knock him down a peg or two, he thinks hes gods gift to women or something
But nah, hes got talent as a GK hes just got a lot he needs to work on and imo hes not got the best coach to help him either. Hes still young for a GK he earns enough im sure he'll have a comfortable life. Im sure theres enough support around him and hes smart enough to know about the crap on the internet. Aslong as he plays for us he'll get my support, actually hope he can turn it around and be our number 2 in cups etc which is likely as he keeps getting backed to an extent.
Hes flapped at a lot of catches and shots he should be holding that have cost us well before the CL final and this pre season, like i pointed out the two off the top of my head, Dzeko in the CL and Wanyamas goal at Anfield. He should have improved his confidence and handling to deal with these but what a surprise Atcherbergs failed to help him.

This is an excellent comparison
The club on the whole seem to blame Karius for the CL loss
The motto of "you'll never walk alone" has been shown to be shallow of meaning these days. THe club captain preferred to wallow in his self pity rather than give Karius a comforting hug at the end of the CL.
Says it all about the club really.
It's all bubbling away underneath the surface
Oh great, the brain of Britain has arrived.

A couple of points to make on my post, people.
1. I never edit. No matter how good/bad/stupid/libellous the comment, it displays the poster's character to the world.
2. Not, definitely not a criticism but, no one seems to have answered the underlying point of my post. What if, God forbid, Alice gets whacked and is out for days/weeks etc? What does LFC do now, now that Karius's self-confidence is shot to pieces? Allegedly told by Klopp he was backing him, i.e. He was numero one, then two days later splashes £67M on someone else?
I confess, I expected more criticism on mentioning Ward, I accept he's gone, but in my view should never have been sold, such was the mental state of Karius, such was the time needed, if he was to remain in play, for him to regain his self-confidence.
What now, my fellow Reds?
Jimmy
“Allegedly told by Klopp he was backing him, i.e. He was numero one”
Did Klopp say Karius is still number 1 or did he just say he stands by him?
Not too sure, Fieldsof. Jurgen certainly said he was standing by him, but you may have a point on the no.1 issue. But the situation still remains unresolved, doesn't it. At this juncture, LFC does not have a credible back up to Alice, especially so in the short term.
12.5 million for ward is really good business. mig is capable of being backup. karius has made some real howlers, most goalies do he has to just get on with it.
Klopp will always defend his players under criticism
as it’s obviously the best thing to do, it clearly makes sense.
He would never hang his players out to dry and pubicly humiliate his players in the same way Mourinho doe.
Klopp’s not a f*cking idiot though, he can tell when a player clearly isn’t good enough and that’s the case with Karius.
Shame for a young keeper.
But such is life, the whole concussion story didn’t help with rival fans. Sure a move back to Germany will see him return to normal.

We’ve still got Mig. But yeah we might sack the pair of them off and get a new number 2 in as well. Although I’d sooner see Karius kept as a number 2 and learn under Alisson.
On karius....ok he fkd up. What should he do? Grow some balls and stop feeling sorry for himself, shove those horrible comments back down peoples throats.
You never know in football...he could easy be Liverpools saviour in a cup final if alisson is out....he could be a hero and lay his demons to rest.
For Liverpool if karius leaves? Well i dont kniw because i think migs wants to leave too.

Karius has the full backing of Klopp.......right before he got His preferred choice in
Karius isn't a top keeper. He's decent. But you ought a new keeper. Better than the ones you currently have. Add to that, you sold your 4th (was third before your new keeper arrived) for £12.5m that's decent dosh for a player who's hardly played for you.
You now have two keepers who are 2nd/3rd choice with not much between them. One has his confidence shot to pieces while never being a top class keeper. Its best for him to leave and restart. Look at Tiabi. Was considered a good keeper in Italy, his short term move to United didn't damage his reputation in Italy where he went on to play in Serie A.
Also, he's not just got hate online, but also allegedly phone calls. The online stuff you could ignore to some extent. But when you get calls, it's something harder to escape.
1. Who actually can verify Karius wants out? It could just be press talk
2. who really cares? if he'd shut his mouth on social media there would be no story.
